How do I associate Disk numbers with controllers?

How do I associate Disk numbers with their controllers For example, if I have three PCI disk controllers in a PC, with one disk drive attached to each one. The Disk Manager will show three disks, enumerated 1, 2, 3. The controllers however, may be enumerated (by looking at it's UINumber) with disk, "1" connected to controller, "3", disk "3" connected to disk "1". A majority of systems have this problem. The example I gave has disks enumerated backward to controllers, but it could be in any random order.

Does anyone have a clue how to force Disks (as shown the Disk Manager) to be enumerated in the same order as controllers (using UINumber, or any other enumeration scheme)
