When the application is deployed, it works fine on most of the machines, but in a few scenarios i get some errors like "System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could Not Load Assembly 'Office, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture = neutral, ........." The machines where the automation fails too have Office 2003 installed, but whenever some excel is opened, it proceeds to perform some installation. It could be because of Office not being fully installed.     - How do edit a system generated button on the Ribbon? Hi All Firstly can I just say I love the beta 2 of VS 2008, especially the Ribbon designer... I am developing an addin specifically for Appointment handling in Outlook 2007 using VS2008b2 and Office Tools Runtime 3. The problem is I have created two Form Regions in my project, both of which work fine, however the system generates two buttons in the 'Show' group of the 'Appointment' tab on the ribbon to allow me to switch backward and forward between them... Now I have been able to set the correct text by setting the Name of my form region during the wizard, however I'm desperate to edit the associated icon for the buttons (kinda like a tab group icon at the moment). http://www.brnc.co.uk/images/buttons.jpg As yet I have found no way of programtically accessing the system generated tabs during runtime. I also appreciate that through the use of XML and the Ribbon designer I can add my own group and buttons to the Appoinment tab.... however how does one edit a button / overwrite that button which is generated by the system. What I want to do is place content in a field (like a table) and then update that content when a user hits the "update" button. I expected that the Field.Range is like any range in Word, in which you can add tables, inlineshapes, apply formatting etc., but I've tried over a dozen ways to create a table inside of a field. Maybe it's just not possible (or maybe i'm just using the wrong wdFieldType but there are quite many types of wdFieldType) but i've seen other software which makes use of fields in a way I also like to do.     - Outlook and OLE attachments - olOLE Hello all Today, I ran into a problem in my Outlook add-in, developed under VSTO. A peace of the code are running through all attachments in selected email, and I try do detach all attachments. Today I got an email containing an OLE object (I see the object as a inlined picture, and I don't know how the sender has created this attachemnt.) In my foreach loop, running through all attachments, I use the propertie .FileName to make a filename for detaching to disk. When coming to the OLE attachment, accessing attachment.FileName throws an exception. When debugging, I see that this particular attachment DO NOT have the .FileName prop set. The .Type prop is OlAttachmentType.olOLE. Mahavir - From my original testing on Office 2007 with a VSTO Document-level customization, the newer document format (docx) does not support the VSTO customization. Actually, saving a Word template (dot) with a customization out as a 'docx' file, unbinds the customization from the document, essentially "breaking" it. Making individual calls to do this in a loop is REALLY slow (I'm assuming because of the COM interop ), so I was wondering if there was a way to do it in one command, maybe by building the list of rows in c# and passing it to excel somehow, but I'm not overly familiar on how to manipulate the range object in C#. I am going to install VSTO 2005 SE which wants me to have just one version of office installed. That is going to be Office 2007. However, I also want to install and use Visio for Enterprise Architects off of the Visual Studio Team System 2005 Developer Edition DVD... I assume that is going to be Visio 11 (Office 2003). That means I will have 2 versions of Office installed, which VSTO 2005 Second Edition says it will not support... So.... my question is, what Visio SHOULD I install Should install Visio 2007 (assuming it exists), and if I do, what Enterprise Architect features will I be missing (or at least, what features won't I have -- I can't guarantee I will actually *miss* them).     - 2 versions of Excel add-in Hi, I have an existing version of an Excel 2003 add-in, built using VSTOSE, that's working fine. I would like install a new UAT version of this add-in, alongside the current add-in. I've tried to to do this, but each time I build one version of my add-in it just overwrites/overdeploys the other version.     - vsto vb.net need table in table or wrap rows? I am building a table and am getting data for the table from sqlserver. The columns that are being returned need to be wrapped into a second row. I was thinking of the folloing logic. Create table 1, loop through data, create table with 2 rows, fill table 2 with data for the record, next. Is this the best approach or is their a method that would wrap the columns into the next column with out needint a table in a table. In either case can you point out an example of how to do this. It says access/permission denied! Did you face a similar kind of issue This is a add-in for Outllok and i am running a different console application for updating the dlls of the add-in Now, when I try to do a File.Copy to the installed folder, it throws the exception. I had installed the add-in using setup initially. I kill the outlook process programatically before doing the File.Copy. I checked to see the permissions of the file/folder and they are not "read-only". Also, I am currently comaparing the dll files directly using the object of Assembly class.     - Converting Interoped Code to Managed Code You won't be able to get away from COM references, as the Office apps are still strictly COM (as is Windows). You will, at the very least, have COM references to Word and to Office. These should work through the 2007 PIAs that ought to be in the GAC. You access them through Add References, the COM tab, as I described before. Don't try to link things in in any other way. Referencing the TLB files directly will generate a set of IAs that wouldn't be optimized by Microsoft, wouldn't work well with VSTO and would have to be redistributed as part of your application - in the application folder, not in the GAC. You do not want to do that. When I open 'my document' the names of the documents are in green, what does this mean New doc that I save in Word 2007 and Excel also appear in green. I have trouble opening these 'green' colored documents lately; I keep getting messages saying that Word 2007/Excel cannot open these files and that I should check if they are corrupt or not. This just happended recently.

I have only heard about that compressed file appears in blue, but really not have any idea about your scenario. It is also out of scope of VSTO forum.

Have you tried to repair Office 2007 to see if it fixed

Hi again,

It proves that file name appears in green when the file is encrypted. To ensure this is your issue:

1. You can choose one of your green file. And right click the file, click properties.

2. In the pop up properties window, in the General Tab click the button Advanced.

3. In Advanced Attributes window, you should find the Check Box ��Encrypt contents to secure data�� is checked. Uncheck it and click OK twice to see if the document name changes to default color.

4. In step 3, Click Details button beside the Check Box, you will find a list in which are who can access this document.

And I even do not know why this weird issue comes up. Try to repair the Office. It should fix the issue.
