    - Stroing additional data along with a cell Hi, "Elegant" is for me robust and reliable solutions so let see if one of the following may be of interest: Use a hidden native worksheet to store the extra information in or use a hidden column to store them. Use a Windows Form to let the end users view/edit the information. Use names that instead of refering to cells refer to constant values in terms of the extra information. The built-in UI may not be a user friendly UI so it will require a customized UI. Since it's a VSTO You can add an app.config file to the project and via My.Settings and via Windows Form(s) make them available both for editing and reading. And contents in this link give a very particular comparison between features in Visio 2007 and previous edition of Visio. 2. Visio 2003: you can use Visual Studio 2008 to develop both Visio 2003 and Visio 2007 Add-in. (VSTO in Visual Studio 2008 is 3.0-version, although it is still in beta2). I get taken to German-language interfaces all the time. People program these sites to pick up the most obscure settings in Windows to decide which language interface to use - it's really annoying. If you look up at the top right of the link you give me, you should see the language in bold type (just to the left of Microsoft.com). Click that to drop down a list and choose the United States link. That should keep things stable at least during the current session. You can try the "Contact Us" link on MSDN. Or you might try a newsgroup for the browser you're working with. Someone their might know which setting MSDN is looking at these days for making this decision. But to answer the questions for Registry and Deployment. You can use Active Directory and an OU (Organizational Unit) to deploy registry settings and software to users. You can use a login script to copy files to the clients when the clients are startet or when the users log on to the domain. I'm usualy would create a Setup-Application with the SetSecurity project and deploy this msi by Active-Directory or SMS Server to the Clients. From there you can also push a new Version. Make sure it is VSTO Runtime that has shipped with VSTO2005SE that is installed on the machine. 2. set VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS=0 and restart Word (make sure you start Word from the same command prompt you set the env.var.). Specifically, it is registered so that PowerPoint knows to load it at start up and CASPOL entries are created so that it is trusted to run. The setup project that is created when you create the project isn't complete and is insufficient to fully install and allow the add-in to run. There are two documents that step you through the process for creating a Windows Installer setup that allows end-users to run your add-ins. But, assuming you have the pre-requisites installed and aren't concerned about language packs, you still need to create registry keys for the add-in (so that PPT can discover it) and to create CASPOL entries so that the add-in will be trusted to load. If you want, have a look at my sample OutlookAdminTools, wich is a C# sample AddIn - but for Office 2007 and VSTOSE. If you remove the references and the 2007 specific code it should work also for Ol2003. You should create an Outlook 2007 Add In. After VSTO SE installed. There should be an Office Node in New Project Dialog. Turned out if .NET is hosted by an external process (ie: Excel) it often fails to load referenced assemblies. I had to reference the assemblies manually on the project reference and this problem is gone. To find out which Assemblies .NET is trying to load you need to hook into the AssemblyResolve event of the current app domain. Hi Sameera, I try to perform your scenario with the following steps, if I have any misunderstanding about your problem, please feel free to point it out. 1. Create a ClassLibrary.dll (v1.0.0.0) using Visual Studio 2005 and C#. 2. Create a VSTO Excel document level solution, and add the ClassLibrary.dll created above as reference in this project. Build VSTO project. 3. Update ClassLibrary.dll with a new version number (v1.0.1.0). 4. Copy the new ClassLibrary.dll to VSTO project��s debug directory and replace the original file 5. Then open the customization document will raise the error you mentioned above. But from my opinion, sadly to say, there is not a way to work around this behavior except you refer the new library and rebuild your VSTO.     - Outlook Addin (VSTO) not starting when "outlook.exe" is running with no UI Hi, it seems that this issue has been the topic of many threads (e.g. http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx PostID=576370&SiteID=1 ). However, I couldn't find any hint on how to solve this problem. How to reproduce: 1. Put a "MessageBox.Show()" or a "File.WriteAllText()" in the startup event handler method. 2. Run any application that starts Outlook in the background. The message or the file won't show up. However, the addin's LoadBehavior is set to two. 3. Fire up Outlook (UI) and check the addin state (Tools > Options > Other ...). It's not loaded due to some error. 4. Close Outlook (UI) and close the application that initially started Outlook in the background. The process "outlook.exe" won't shut down and has to be killed manually. Conclusion: The addin loader seems to cause the error when Outlook is launched with no UI because the addin code never seems to get called. Moreover, it seems to hold some resources that prevents "outlook.exe" from being terminated. Question: Could the conclusion be correct If not, is there any reasonable explanation for this behavior Is there a workaround or a fix for it Please let me know! hi,

i used the Com object of (MS Office word 11) i added as a reference changed the web config and dcomcnfg i did everything and i used it. but suddenly my application started not to work. Can anybody help me about this issue

i think the changes that i have made could affect the application start up. My application start after i get login it locks.

it is because of the virus called virus.win32.Alman.b or virus.win32.almanahe.b or other types could afect but the main reason is not the virus is the antivirus application stops the my web application and it hangs.
