Denis Pitcher

After completing testing of my addins in my dev and virtual test environments, I went to deploy them and encountered a very odd issue.

Upon installing my addin, various things within powerpoint fail to draw properly including wordart and images. They show up fine in the slide preview but do not in the actual default design view.

Everything works just fine in both my development environemtn and my virtual test environment, but when I try to deploy to my user boxes this issue happens.

I'm using VSTO 2005 with Visual Studio 2005

Office 2003 (11.8120) SP2

I would welcome any thoughts or suggestions as to what could be causing or what could resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Denis

Hi Denis

I very much recommend you also ask this in the PowerPoint newsgroup. You'll find a number of experts there, who also program using .NET languages and work with COM Add-ins. Someone there may have some experience with this issue.

It would probably also be a good idea to include the version of Windows these machines are running. And something you should certainly check is whether updating the graphics card driver helps at all. You might also compare the available memory of your test machines with that of the users' machines.

Thanks Cindy,

I found something on that group that resolved the issue.

"This is a display issue. I'd try changing hardware acceleration.

How to set graphics hardware acceleration back

Thanks,

VS Sreenivas,

Have you decreased the hardware accelleration setting of your video card Thats what worked for me.

Under (right click on desktop)

Display Properties ---> Settings --> Advanced --> Troubleshoot --> Hardware accelleration slider
