Hi,
I created a custom task pane using VSTO SE for word 2007. When I run the application from VSTO, the task pane is visible. But, when I create Setup of my application and install the same, custom task pane is not visible on startup of word. The registry entries are proper in the setup. When I viewed the Add-Ins list, my custom task pane's add-in is in inactive list. If I try to activate it, it says, failed to load the dll.
What could be the problem in this case. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Savita

Think we'll need more information than this, then maybe someone can help you:

You indicate that you are getting a "Failed to load DLL" error, can you post the exact error message

The most common cause of a load failure for a VSTO DLL is caused by incorrect security policy settings and/or missing security policy for that DLL, folder, etc...

Savita,

Please read through the deployment articles about VSTO. Unfortunately, the default setup object does not set up CAS security to allow you add-in to run. So, you need to modify your setup project to automate CAS policy modifications and meet other pre-requisites.

Also, if you set up the VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS environment variable to 0, then VSTO will display the exact error for the loading failure (which I suspect is the permission issue).
