I have VSTS (SP1) and office 2k3 (SP3) and I am trying to create my first word app but I am getting the following error:

A compatible version of Microsoft Office Word 2003 is not installed on this computer.
You must install Microsoft Office Word 2003 SP1 and the Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office runtime

I have already re-run the VSTO runtime patch but I am still getting the same error =(

Here are the steps I am following:

File-> New Proyect -> C#-> Office -> Word Document.
Put a name: TEST.

On the Select a Document for your app. dialog, I put:
x Create a new document: test.

I am new on this .. so any help is greatly appreciated =]

Cindy thanks for your quick response,
I check the about info for Word and Excel and found out that I am running Office XP (2002) and Outlook is the one who is 2003.
By doing some research, I found out that VSTO will not work on 2002. Therefore I am going to try to get the FULL 2003 Office Version.
Thanks Again =]

Glad you've found out the cause for the problem :-)

Keep in mind that you must obtain the Office 2003 PROFESSIONAL edition. You can't use the Standard addition with VSTO document-level customizations.

Since Office 2007 has been out for quite some months now, you may have trouble finding Office 2003 in the stores. But keep in mind there's always something like Ebay...
