Hi Jaz,

Please make sure all prerequisites are installed in the client machine. And after installing the add-in, trust has been granted to the assembly. To see more instructions, refer this link:

Thanks

Hi Jaz,

What do you mean when saying "The addin is coming under Inactive application addin section" Is the addin in your com addin dialog not checked. If you check your addin in the com addin dialog, is the addin loaded

Thanks

Ji

Hi Ji,

My addin under com addin dialog is not checked... After checking it also it is not loading..
and again shows as unchecked

Thanks
Jaz

This due to error id add-in / Error CAS policy of your assemblies. Grive Full trust to your add-in.

Hi Jaz,

What's codes are in your project If you only add a single MessageBox.Show("Hello"); in ThisAddIn_Startup. And install the addin, does the error still exist

Thanks

Hi,

Execute/Open Regedit.exe

LOCATED following :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> Outlook -> Addins-<Your Addin>

Change the "LoadBehavior" Property to 3 for your ADDIN.

I think, this will solve your issue

thanks

hi,
I tried that also,
and i can change that LoadBehavior to 3 (from 2).
and after that when i am reopening my office application it automatically changing to 2 again..

thanks
jaz

Hi,

It seems you dont have "Admin" Privileges or you have not created CAS policy for "add in" dll located in the "Installed" folder

thanks

Hi Jaz,

There should be some errors in your codes that soft disable the add-in.

Soft disabling occurs when an add-in throws an unhandled exception in the constructor or the Startup event handler and the Microsoft Office application does not unexpectedly close. The Office application might disable only the current add-in from loading for the current user. When an Office application soft disables an add-in, it sets the value of the LoadBehavior registry entry for the add-in to 2. The LoadBehavior entry is located under the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\<application name>\Addins\<add-in name>

In such case, if you set LoadBehavior to 3 and start Outlook under debugger you should see an error message popping up with. The dialog also has an a "Details" button which you can click and see the stack where the exception has occured.

Also follow this link for troubleshooting tips e.g using VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS variable to get the message box pop up w/o running under debugger.

Hi

You have missed some steps during the MSI/Setup creation. Check following links.
