I have created an MS Project 2007 add-in using the beta 2 version of Visual Studio 2008 (Orcas). My development machine is running Vista. The add-in runs fine on my development machine, but when I try to deploy it on a non-development machine running Vista I receive the following error "Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in." BUT I can deploy and run on an XP machine with no problem.

I am using the Publish feature in studio to create the deployment.

Also I do have a try..catch block around the Startup method and am not gettiing any thing from it.

Any ideas

Thanks

Mike

Re: Visual Studio Tools for Office Project 2007 Add-In won' deploy to non-development Vista machine

Mike,

Are you installing the Prerequisites on the non-development via the setup.exe

Have you tried Repairing the Runtime. With the beta install there is a known issue where the runtime install finishes but still needs a repair. You have to make sure you've rebooted the machine since you installed the 3.5 framework and then reinstall (or repair) the VSTO Runtime 3.0.

Hopefully that helps, let us know.

Yes I am installing the prerequisites via the setup.exe. I have rebooted the machine. Is this only a Vista problem, as I have no issues on an XP machine How to I repair the runtime

Thanks for your response.

After re-running the VSTO install and performing a repair the add-in now works on non-development Vista machine.

Thank you for your help on this!
