The only thing I was anxious about was the no feedback I’ve noticed.     - Word 2007 Interop problem Hi, I've upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and am having some trouble getting some software I made that uses the Word Interop to do search and replace working. I changed the reference to the new Interop assembly I got from the Primary Interop Assemblies . I tried converting my template documents to Office 2007 format, but that didn't seem to help.     - Outbox Frustration Hi First suggestion like Sue says is to see if any other addins are affecting things, the next thing is to create a standard Event handler and rem all of your code and see whether the API hook is causing this issue, The last thing I would suggest and have seen before is making sure you are using the PIA's (Primary Interop Assemblies) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx familyid=3c9a983a-ac14-4125-8ba0-d36d67e0f4ad is the office 2003 download. If you have a blank method IE No code in the handler and this still fails the send of the item then Try reinstalling the PIA's and making sure you re-reference your Office COM Objects in the solution. My next troubleshooting question is: do you have Word 2003 and Word 2007 installed on the same computer It sounds like you do if you're creating a Word 2003 template document project. We explicitly warn against side-by-side installation in the VSTO 2005 SE documentation. If that is the case, then I suggest removing Office 2007 from your development machine and then set set up another machine (or a Virtual PC, or a dual boot) for testing on Word 2007. In my case I am not using Marshal.GetActiveObject(...) but for I create an instance of Word.Application. I know there are people who've attempted putting their own ActiveX controls (not necessarily managed code) into Word docs and have run into all sorts of problems. Perhaps something they mention will trigger an idea for you. Another place to ask would be in the net.framework.interop newsgroup .     - Word VSTO Issue. Hello, I created a VSTO Word 2003 Project with some webservices pulling in the data. I did the deployment using a setup project which worked fine. Suddenly I keep getting the error once the installer is run in client's computer and getting close to completion as "value cannot be null parameter name: url". This also happens unfortunately when I run the installer in my machine. I looked for any outdated references in the WebService but out of luck. Can you help me out with some ways and means to debug the installer when it is executed. I do not get any errors in the Visual Studio.Net 2005 nor on the set up project during compile time.Regmon did not help me either. Thanks in advance. Murali.     - Previously working code breaks when VSTO2005 is installed? Hello, I have previously developed some applications using the ActiveX OUtlook View Control. These applications were working fine. I then installed the VSTO 2005 developers kit. Now, when I first re-opened the solutions that had my working code, I recveived a warning about newer versions of the assemblies that I was using, so I clicked on the warning and VS apparently re-referenced the newer versions. I then try to compile, but I received an error about a missing reference to the Microsoft.VisualStudio.Tools.Applications.Runtime assembly, so I add that to my list of references. The application now compiles again with no problems. However, when I run the application, I get a null reference exception when trying to access the Outlook.Application. Here are the pertinent to lines of code: this.outlookApp = new Microsoft.Office.Tools.Outlook.Application(); this.outlookNS = this.outlookApp.GetNamespace("MAPI"); The second line is the line that reeives the null reference exception. However, in the debugger, the this.outlookApp object is not null. Does anyone have any ideas why this just broke And, just for reference, I am using Outlook 2003. Thanks! On my new development machine, I only have Office 2007 and Visual Studio 2005 Pro Edition installed.     - Installing Visual Studio Tools for Office 2005 I do have downgrade rights; however, I have installed and activated Office 2003for Students and Teachers (complete installed) and and updated it to SP1. I also completely removed Office 2007. I *still* cannot get VSTO 2005 installed. I keeps stopping and saying 'Office 2003 SP1 is not installed on this computer'. I meet all of the requirements for installing VSTO, yet can't get it installed. The only non-Offie 2003 product I have installed on this PC is Access 2000. After uninstalling Office 2007 and Office 2003, I tried to find a 'cleaner/eraser' to ensure all traces of Office were gone from my system before reinstalling Office 2003, but couldn't find anything.     - Appointment time changes not propagating to OWA when appointment created with VSTO form ?!?!?! I have an application with a custom appointment form. Everything seemed to be working fine until my client noticed that when sync'ing their Pocket PC, their appointment times weren't always changing on the PDA. After two days of investigating, I have discovered that if I create an appointment with my custom form, and then try and change the times of the appointment, while still in the same Outlook session, then the time change does not propagate to OWA (Outlook Web Access), or to PDAs (which essentially also use OWA). Any other changes to the Body, Subject, etc. all propagate fine; just the times don't. So I have created a new (much simplified) AddIn to reproduce the problem. I have VS2005 with SP1 and with VSTO SE, running on a virtual Windows XP machine with Outlook 2003 SP3. To see the problem in action do the following, without restarting Outlook: 1) Open your calendar and create a new appointment, it will load your custom form. 2) Fill in the subject and body, and set the times if you like. 3) Close the form and save when prompted. 4) Using OWA, check that the appointment is there, with the times you specified. 5) Back in Outlook, move the appointment. Or better still, open again and change the times, subject and body. 6) Back in OWA, refresh your calendar and open the appointment. If you get the same results as me, then your OWA appoinment will have the updated subject and body, but not the updated times. If you restart Outlook and move the appointment, everything then seems fine. Can anybody help me Even if someone else can reproduce this problem and tell me I'm not crazy, it'll help!     - When .NET objects dispose in Excel? Hi, all! As you know, it's possible to insert a control into Excel's worksheet. It's also possible to delete this object trough "Visual Basic panel" -> "Design Mode": just select desired .NET control and press "Del" button. But! Nor Dispose(), nor control's destructor would not be invoked. So the question is: How to manage .NET objects deletion For instance, my control connects to a server just after it been added, but when user deleted this control via "Del" button I couldn't close this connection. VSTO 2005 SE, with support for creating add-ins for Outlook 2007 (among other things) was released last year about the time that Office 2007 was released. What is in beta currently is Orcas, the next version of Visual Studio, which will have design-time support for the Office "ribbon" and form regions.
