Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, RS isn't my area of expertise, a customer has asked if it was possible to export all the data in an RS report onto one Excel sheet.

She has created a report off an AS2005 cube, there are 71 pages, is there a way of increasing the number of rows per page or even putting them all on one page Having some 30 sheets in a spreadsheet seems a little excess.

Thanks in advance

Matt

Hi,

No question is stupid - if it relates to something you don't know. :-)

If you have a report in SSRS that displays as multiple pages in the report viewer (i.e. within Internet Explorer or other browser) then exporting to Excel will result in the data being a single spreadsheet; e.g. 100 lines of data displaying as 4 pages of 25 within the browser will export as 100 lines on a single spreadsheet.

If you wanted to increase the number of rows per page then you just need to increase the page size used for the report.

Hope this helps,

Gary.

Can you take out the page breaks from the report I believe this is what puts data on multiple sheets in Excel. I have a few or more reports that, when exported, display thousands of records all in one sheet.

I am not sure what actually fixed the problem but it works now, the report had the table nested in a list which was also nested in a list, which had a grouping which I am not convienced was working. When i was previewing the report it was always showing 57pages, but when I exported it, it was on 2. Very odd, another thing to investigate!!

Thanks for you help though, learnt a fair bit about reports and grouping based on the two suggestions.
