Hi,

I'm using Reporting Service to print checks. Everything seems ok when I design and deploy and view the reports. But when I try to export to pdf, the MICR font I'm using does not work. I've tried a couple of different MICR fonts from the web and they either get replaced by a standard font or disappear altogether. I would love to know why that is.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

We don't embed fonts in the PDF. This means the font needs to be installed on the machine you are opening the pdf on.

Microsoft tech support says the font must be a True Type font. Also, for some reason, the fonts seem not to work at 12pt or above. 10 and 11 pt seems to work fine.

Like Ryan said, make sure you have the font installed on both the server and on the client.

I have seen several barcode fonts that do not include the correct spacing or at least do not report the correct spacing through the Win32 APIs our PDF renderer calls. It's also very possible we have a bug in that area.

If you file a bug at http://connect.microsoft.com and include the rdl and font, I'll gladly take a look.

Thanks,

I am facing the same problem. The text in MICR Font disappears when i render the report to PDF.

Is there any solution/workaround for this problem

Ok... we found a solution.

Increase the height and width of the textbox, which contains the text in MICR font.

that solved our issue

Make sure the MICR font is on the same mechine that you open the pdf and leva space fot the height and the width and try woth Size 12 max this worked by me

I tried that. Could you send me a .rdl file by email I would appreciate that.

Re: MICR Font Issue When Exporting to PDF

jhknys

can also be that your rdl file is corupted so try the same on a other rdl file with same font and a text box the hight be bigger than the font and see then

also check the pdf file by CTRL-D fonts tab check if the pdf has the font in it, if it dose you shuld be good to go just play around with the Height if the text box

btw: no email address is specified
