is it ok to run VSS (shadow copies) on an SQL server

I have IIS and SQL on the same server. I would like to make shadow copies of my IIS files, but don't want to do anything that could corrupt my SQL databases.

Thanks,

-Bob

i don't think there is any problem in this. VSS (Visual Source Safe) can co-exist with sql server it should not be a problem

hmm.. I had VSS = Volume Shadow Copy Service, but Visual Source Safe makes more sense.

In either case, my quesiton is about volume shadow copies and sql. Could there be a problem shadow copies enabled on the same volume that holds SQL databases
