Microsoft has deprecated DB-Library a long ago, in favor of ODBC, OLE DB, or SQL Native Client. Many new features of SQL 2005 aren't accessible via DB-Library so if you need them, you have to switch away from pymssql or other tools based on TDS and DB-Library. I'm trying to get some proof of concept reports made for a MOSS / SQL Server 2005 (sp2) Integrated solution. I have a simple report that displays everything in the 'incident' uploaded to the MOSS server, and it works fine. I've made another report that uses a line chart to plot some averages. This report, called 'Average Control Time by Weekday' works 100% ok in VS2005 preview mode and both reports use the same datasource. The report is uploaded and the dataset is all linked up. When I view the report (by clicking on it's link on my Sharepoint Site), however, I get an error: An error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for data set 'DataSource1'. Invalid object name 'incident'. I've checked the SQL that was run in the SQL Server Profiler to see what transactions were hitting the database. The query that the report makes when in VS2005 Preview mode is precicely the same as what Sharepoint makes when it tries to render the report. I made another plain report (just a table view) that uses the same query as the 'Average Control' report and tested it on Sharepoint, and it works perfectly. Any ideas p.s. I even asked I-God ( http://www.titane.ca/concordia/dfar251/igod/main.html ) all he said was that I would need a court order to get rid of the recursion in AIML... and then asked for my credit card number. Based on your hint (expression) I was able to find the expressions section on my Connection's properties pane. I added an expression the ConnectionString (path) to a variable. It works! One small oddity... I wanted to set the variable in a Script Component for testing (rather than command line). However, I couldn't set the Script Component as the first object on my Data Flow since the Flat File Source object will not take a predecessor. Instead I created another Data Flow, made my main one dependent on that, and then added a "Source" Script Component to the new Data Flow... then I populated the new variable in that Script Component. I have verified that the data is a string and when I put in the value as you suggested or many other variations I have tried, it will run but will return a "0" match but I know that there should be a match. If you only enter one value it will return results. Here is my parameter: WHERE location_type IN (@Type) Then in the report parameter dialog box I select "Non-Queried" Label Value Mail Order 001 Pharmacy 001, 002, 003 (will work if I only place one value) This will return results for "Mail Order" but returns "0" for Pharmacy. No other software is running on this machine, even not backup since ntbackup is being used... When I want to open Analysis Services from Management Studio, an error message appear:

Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. (Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoEnum)

Can anybody tell me what happen and how to solve that

What version of Analysis Services you are running

Try installing SP1. If that wouldnt help, try installing CTP of SP2.

Thanks for your reply. I have installed SP1 + Hotfix so the version of SSAS is 2153. Is it recommended to installed SP2 on Production server yet Thanks.

I wouldnt recommend installing CTP of SP2 without trying it first on the production machine.

But the problem looks like to be related to the SQL Management studio. Try installing CTP of SP2 on a client machine and then connecting to the server. See if the same error is happening.

FYI, I have 4 machine in my environment, one server (A) and the other three is client (B,C,D). I installed SP1 + hotfix on machine A, B, and C. I installed CTP of SP2 on D. A cannot open Analysis Services from management studio on its local, but can open Analysis Services on B and C. B and C can open Analysis Services on their local but cannot open the Analysis Services on A. D can open Analysis Services on its local and other machines (A, B, C). Is there any other solution besides installing CTP of SP2 on client Thanks.

In SP2 SQL Management studio is more efficient in opening big databases. Looks like that is the way to go.
