I am an authenticated user of a remote data base
I can log in and add tables and even I can back up the database .
Good.
But I want to get a copy of the database to my local computer
Is there any way to do this

You need to have enough permission to do this. Get permission to the backup file location and copy the backup file to the destination server and restore it.

Hi,
I'm doing similar things with a software package I'm in the process of developing - I want to sell the package to multiple clients and to have their data copied to my database on my machine for backup/restore purposes for a monthly fee.
I'm currently exploring replication services, as it seems that this is a more sensible option - especially as I'm copying information from remote databases on a very regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly etc.).
Maybe you should explore Replication Services as a way of retrieving the information you need - failing that, write a small VB/VB.NET script to open each table in the remote database and save it to an empty database on your local machine.
