EXEC sp_insertRecord has too many arguments specified: Msg 8144, Level 16, State 2-Why I got this error? In order to give you any 'real' help, we need the code for the stored procedures.
Try the following:
EXECUTE sp_helptext sp_insertRecord
And then post the returned stored procedure code. Then we may be able to help you.
My suspicsion is that you do NOT need to provide the PersonID value for an INSERT.
But I cannot be certain without seeing the code. Tag: Adding dll or executable

using express edition Sure you can, but you can not deploy automatically from inside VS. 1. Create a normal class library 2. write your methods as public static 3. Compile 4. Deploy the assembly to the database (look in BOL for CREATE ASSEMBLY) 5. Create T-SQL wrapper procedures/functions/triggers against your CLR methods (look in BOL for CREATE FUNCTION/PROCEDURE/TRIGGER) Niels Tag: Adding dll or executable

Cannot create db diagram Dear Bill
I am a newbie and have also experienced the same problem, on a local machine with SQL Server 2005 DE.
I have placed a similar msg on a few forums and no response to them as yet.
"MS SQL SERVER 2005 BUG Cannot insert NULL into column diagram_id
Hi friends, when trying to save a diagram I got an error: The sp_creatediagram procedure attempted to return a status of NULL, which is not allowed." Whats with this
As far as I can work out, it has only started happening since I mucked around with the database properties such as ANSI NULLS true/false. I have put them back to default as a test and it doesnt fix the problem.
Have you got any ideas about it yet Tag: Adding dll or executable
when i run SnapshotGenerationAgent.GenerateSnapshot(), it fails. Hi Ariston,
Please review the following SQL Server 2005 Books Online topic for the privilege level required to run the snapshot agent:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms151868(SQL.90).aspx
If you are still having problems running the snapshot agent after granting the necessary privileges to the toshiba\snapshot_agent account as prescribed by the article above, please run the snapshot agent from the command line with -OutputVerboseLevel 2 to get extended error information on the operation that the snapshot agent is failing on.

New to SSIS and can't seem to get started off right. First and foremost, the two products are not comparable... MS Access does not have a database engine. It's just glorified Excel. You shouldn't even be having that conversation with your boss. With that said... I believe you'll have to set the package security protection level to "DontSaveSensitive." Only YOU can run the package with the default configuration, and when it's promoted to the server, it doesn't work. Some of the other guys here can help you with that. Tag: Adding dll or executable
SQL SELECT Cisco:
If you have a sequence key (such as an IDENTITY column) to the table maybe something like:
Code Snippet
select top 3 *
from yourTable
order by theKey desc
If you don't have a sequence key but have an "create date/time" column you can do something like:
Code Snippet
select top 3 *
from yourTable
order by createDateTime desc
How do you "know" what are the last three records Tag: Adding dll or executable
MDX Calculation Question - need to filter out a response value in overall calc How about trying to use the many-to-many dimension feature of AS 2005: assuming that you have a [Respondent] dimension table, with a [Weight] field, one approach would be to add a "Respondent" Measure Group on this table, with a "sum" measure like [RespWeight] on the [Weight] field. The [Respondent] dimension would then have a "fact" relation to this "Respondent" Measure Group, and a regular relation to the survey fact table/Measure Group (which has RespondentID, Question and Response fields). And assuming there is a [Question_Response] dimension, with separate Question and Response attributes, this [Question_Response] dimension can be directly related to the survey fact table via a {Question, Response} composite key.
Now the [Question_Response] dimension can have a many-to-many relation to the "Respondent" Measure Group via the survey Intermediate Measure Group, and the calculation of weighted "Yes" responses could be like:
([Measures].[[RespWeight], [Question_Response].[Response].[Yes])
/ ([Measures].[[RespWeight], [Question_Response].[Response].[All]) Tag: Adding dll or executable
OLEDB to Flat File Destination - Comes out in wrong order I think you can accomplish that by editing the properties of the flat file connection manager. Server: Msg 22029, Level 16, State 1, Line 0 Hi Garry,
The error you are getting is probably because you have selected the master database and Backup transactional logs in your maintanance plan. Only full backups of master database are allowed .

SSIS Service won't start This is a complete guess but you could try it anyway...
There is a file called MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml that defines the SQL Server instance to which the SSIS Service is "attached" (for want of a better word).
Perhaps your domain admin account has permissions to connect to SQL Server but the domain user acocunt does not.
Just a guess but try it anyway.

ParallelPeriod: Same Day Last Month in long months This could perhaps be more efficiently handled in scoped MDX script; but a recursive approach like this should work (except in the first month):

([Reporting Date].[Year - Quarter - Month - Date].PrevMember,

import file to ntext column by textcopy.exe hi,
could Please tell me Presently which sql server version you are using
in the latest version of sqlserver 2005 , there is no features for Textcopy.exe {i am not sure, i tried, i couldn't able to findout the features}.
you need to copy the file from the sql server 2000.
i tried something.. i got same problem,
so, i copeid the textcopy.exe and ntwdblib.dll from the sqlserver 2000
and paste it in the server local dir. and use that dir
like,
master..cmdshell 'c:\textcopy.exe' , @DBName , 'sa' , 'pwd' , 'tablename' , 'BlobContents' , @cndtn , @attachmentfilename , 'O'
and its works fine.
try it.

if posible use a database name in a variable? You'd have to use dynamic SQL to do that. Something like this
declare @sql nvarchar(4000), @MyDatabase nvarchar(100) set @MyDatabase = N'pubs' set @sql = N'SELECT * FROM ' + @MyDatabase + '.dbo.authors' exec sp_executesql @sql
Are you going to be sending the SQL statements from a client If so, it would be much better to set the database in the connection string and then use regular SQL statements than using dynamic SQL everywhere. Tag: Adding dll or executable
Login failing for a user For your c# app are you using NTAuthentication = True If so then you need to make sure that the ordinary user has sufficent rights to access that db and tables. If you dont want them to have that access then create a SQL login with rights and them you can just use a config file for your app and encrpyt the username and password so they are unable to have any access outside of the application. Let me know either way and I can help you check where user security is. Tag: Adding dll or executable
How to move the bad data into another directory while looping through a set of FLAT FILES ? As a really simple (and not very robust) workaround you could use the following expression in your flat file destination connection manager:
REPLACE(@[User: ourceFilePath], "SOURCE", "ERROR") + "_Error.TXT"
A more robust solution would be to parse the sourceFilePath variable to get the filename, and use a seperate variable to set the error path. Tag: Adding dll or executable
