    - Memory Error on AS Backup Getting the following error on Analysis Services backups (using version 9.00.3159.00): Memory error: Allocation failure : Not enough storage is available to process this command. Have read some of the postings on error relating to Procesing and Deployment, but not a Backup. Backups with this error have occurred after upgrading to the noted version. Additional messages in the SQL Server error log and system event log may provide more detail. This is a severe system-level error condition that threatens database integrity and must be corrected immediately. Complete a full database consistency check (DBCC CHECKDB). This error can be caused by many factors; for more information, see SQL Server Books Online. fcb::close-flush: Operating system error 21(The device is not ready.) encountered. I got these errors for about 2 hrs and after that I see these messages in the sql log Starting up database ' ' 1 transactions rolled forward in database '' (). This is an informational message only.     - recursive calculated measure I am trying to write a calculated member that is an expression of the following series: A(t) = A(t-1)*(1+R1) + a(t)*(1+R2) where A(t) represents the aggregate value of the measure and a(t) represents the value observed during the period t. At any point along my time dimension t, I will be running the calculation for either 3 months or 12 months. It is also very hard to see why the named query will not execute without a filter clause. I have searched for file limits of the SSAS2005 data files but I have not found anything this far. What hardware are you using(32bit/64bit, no of CPU:s, RAM) . Are you using the standard or enterprise version of SSAS2005 SP1 Why are you not able to create a view of the three fact tables With that large data set a named query is not the best choice, for performance reasons. I can add it to a form, but I cannot create a new report, as clicking on 'Design a new report' under the ReportView Tasks popup menu does nothing.
