    - Difficulty in Installing SQL Developer on Vista Ultimate Vidya, This really doesn't descibe what I've going through. Your link involved someone who was trying to make Developer and SQLE co-exist. I've said pretty clearly the I removed SQLE and then read that Developer would upgrade over top of SQLE. My current question is, how can i clean up the current installation to eliminate all of the SQL so i can attmpt to re-install Developer.     - Config Error (Oracle 10g Source) Hello All I was trying to configure my package. I have a Oracle 10g DB as source. I used "Oracle provider for OLE Db" as provider in connection manager. I entered user name and password. When I set my package protection level to : DontSaveSensitive and executed the package it gives me this error: [Connection manager "WDEV.wuser1"] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "OraOLEDB" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied". When i go back to connection manager I see the blank password. I retype it but again when I execute I get the above error. I configured the package with same setting and in the config file I mentioned the passwords and all details but again I when I execute the package i get the below error: [Connection manager "WDEV.wuser1"] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Service Components" Hresult: 0x80040E21 Description: "Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors.     - SQL Express Install Fails with message about COM+ Hi There I am trying to install SQL express with the /qb switch. It fails with To install Microsoft SQL Server 2005, COM+ should work. I want to filter customers that hav ea certain amount of sales per period. Instead of using a Count(Filter(customer) approach, I created a calculated member that "filters" a distinct count measure (Customer Key Distinct Count). For leaf members the count is multiplied with 1 or 0 depending on sales, for nodes a rollup takes place. The result is correct, but performance is poor. I'm familiar with dimensional behaviour in pre-2005 Analysis Services, but with the UDM I'd hoped that dimensions would be correlated where applicable (e.g. when they are based on the same table). At least now that I know this to be a limitation of AS rather than an error in my implementation, I can focus my efforts on working around the limitation.     - Programmatically determining if a data driven subscription is running Hi, Quick question: how do I determine programmatically if a data driven subscription is currently running More info: I’m writing a web application which allows the user to kick off an existing data driven subscription (reporting services 2000), which runs from a table with parameters, paths, etc which the user has populated. The subscription can take several minutes to run, during which time I need to prevent other users from attempting to run the subscription or alter data on the table driving the subscription. All I’ve found in the docs so far is 1. The ActiveState on the subscription. This seems to have more to do with weather or not it can run than if it is running. 2. The status of the subscription. This seems to only return “done: {0} of {1} with {2} errors” Parsing this is likely to be too flaky to be acceptable. I really need to move on this as soon as possible, any help is appreciated.     - Logging Inserts From Flat File Your response spawns another question.. Not being familiar with SSIS I would like to know that we are building this package correctly. I have been working on a solution with another developer for processing flat files to a SQL server. We are getting 45 flat files from a known directory and processing each file into its own table in the SQL server. Field names match in both the flat file and the SQL table. the data types have been taken care of too. Basically, we have a control flow with a foreach loop and within the loop we have one Data Flow task. When you open this one Data Flow task, we have set up 45 different dataflow tasks that all have the following sequences: Flat file source (each have their own connection manager that points to a different text file) So we have 45 different flat file connection mangers. 1 is connected to a script task that creates a row number to be used if an error occurs so we can get the row number of the error - since we cannot get the column name in error (as you can see for my previous postings) Number 2 is connected to an OLE DB Destination (the SQL table the flat file will be inserted into) and this is where we have mapped the flat file columns to the SQL table columns Number 3 is connected to another script task via the Error Output where we set the variables for the table name (or flat file name) and row number along with the error info. Number 4 is then connected to an OLE DB Command where we are calling a stored proc to log the error. The .dtsx file is 9500k and takes a while just to open the package (oh yeah, when I do open the package it keeps telling my a there are long lines of text and asks me if I would like to continue loading the package ). When this package runs, it takes a little while, but it is successful. I just want to hear from someone who is experienced with SSIS to let me know if our approach is headed in the right direction.     - unable to start Analysis services - sql server 2005 I killed ssas whne it was not responding. Bad Idea, I guess. Now, it starts and then stops. --------------------------- Services --------------------------- The SQL Server Analysis Services (MSSQLSERVER) service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I ran it from command prompt, and got: Message: Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when instantiating a metadata object from the file, '\\ \C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL. 3\OLAP\Data\MonthByMonthDT.0.db\bla bla bla.1.dms.xml'. (Source : MSSQLServerOLAPService, Type: 3, Category: 289, Event ID: 0xC1210012) So following some other suggestions in this forum, I deleted that data, then cleared out the whole data folder and still getting same problem. Also, I was messing around with configuration around when this hapend, allowing openrowset commads, not sure if that is possibly the cause or how I can reset to default config in order to try. I wonder if it is possible to create a dataset in code and then feed it to a Reporting Svcs (RS) report and have it rendered on the data from this dataset.

My collegues does this with Crystal and it would break my heart if I cant do this with (RS)...

I have tried to find a solution but so far, no luck.

Anyone have any ideas

If you use the reportviewer control in local mode you can do what you say. If you want this sent straight to hard copy that also can be achieved. I'm not sure if that meets your requirement.

hi my problem is same..i created a report through report wizard. I want to run this report from c#.net windows form....could u tell me how to achieve this...i also place report viewer on form...but how to access report
