I've installed all the options from the sQL server CD but can't find how to install the Management Studio. I'm missing something obvious, but beat's me where it is.

TIA

S, Not sure what version you installed.. but if you installed ALL options, then you installed SQL Server AND the Client tools then maybe they are there, but you can't see them till you reboot ! .. If you meant you only installed SQl Server not the client tools, then go back and run the install disk again, and select only the Client tools to install, reboot and you'll see the options. Don't insall SQL Server again, as that will blow away your existing SQL Server.. just install the client tools. Bruce

Did you eventually install the SQL Server Express edition The non-Advanced edition does not contain any managment tools. (like SQL Server Management Studio Express). If you are using this edition you should in addition download the advanced edition pack that contains Reporting Services and SQL Server Express Management Studio.
