    - Database engine not displayed by management console I have sql server 2005 express installed on an XP machine. When I browse for a database engine, SQL server 2005 management console displays machinename\sqlexpress in the local tab, BUT in the network tab only the machinename is displayed. Is there any way one can "select * from (exec sp_MyStoredProc @var='someval') where SomeCol='someotherval'" from a single statement I have tried using functions, but neither of the 3 types are sufficient: I need to return a table / rowset, the source statement involves multiple lines and ugly dynamic SQL, and I do not know what columns I will be returning until half way through execution. For some context, I am trying to create a central security mechanism for our views used in reporting. In the RDL's the dataset SQL is in the form of 'select * from XRV_ViewName where UserID=@UserID'. I've made a stored procedure that takes a view name and some security credentials which analyzes the view's columns and generates a large select statement with appropriate where clauses appended to it. Obviously, all I want to do now is somehow return the results of that select to the RDL. Just doing exec(thesql) in the stored proc works fine in management studio, but it's painfully apparent that you can't directly select from the results of a stored proc in a single statement. Functions seem insufficient as well for previously mentioned reasons. I've can't make output cursor variables work (in a single line), I've researched temp tables and table variables, even looked at openquery and I can't seem to find any decent solution. By reducing "DefaultBufferMaxRow" to certain amount (My package was set to 5000) and keep "DefaultBufferSize" as small as possible (default is 10MB, Max is 100MB), your package should run succefully. I already changed the SMTP server address so emails will go to nowhere. Now What is the best sequence to get a rid of all subscriptions Delete records (or truncate) from the ReportServer.Subscriptions table then delete all the subscriptions jobs or the other way around BTY, a centralized management of subscriptions as well as stuffing all these jobs into a folder would be a welcome addition. Most of the time it has joins to the tables in several databases that are not necessarily in the OLE DB Connection manager. This means that even if we change connection managers using package configuration we still need to open OLE DB source in the design mode to make changes in our sql code.     - Odd characters added to T-SQL Automatically I am using Reporting Services 2000 and therefore VS 2003 and am having a problem editing the T-SQL query in the data view of Visual Studio. Basically if I manually edit the T-SQL query or touch anything in the designer view of the query I get odd characters added in the T-SQL and the query no longer works. I have tried re-installing VS2003 and RS 2000 but it's still happening. FYI I also have SQLServer 2005 and VS 2005 on my machine as all applications we develop are in .Net 2.0 and 3.0.     - SQL CE 3.0 (Mobile 2005) Max DB Size Question My tests show that when I set Max Database Size=4090 it created a 20K SDF. If it works anything like most DBMS engines, as you add data, it just adds "extents" (big blocks of data) to accommodate the new rows.
