How do I set those null values in mdx query to a default '0' count as I want to display those empty cells in my report, thanks.

Perhaps, if you just remove NON EMPTY clause from your MDX query it would be enough - since the rows with all null cells in them won't be eliminated.

(it is possible to convert NULLs everywhere to 0's but it will be expensive).

Actually I have set it to show Empty cells before. But it display empty boxes ( cells) in the report which i feel peculiar. Anyway this relates to the previous issue with time dimension as shown below:

Time Dimension Issue

I have a table with a time dimension created to store all the revelant date, month, year etc. This table has records of all the different measures. They are linked with unquie IDs. In the report designer when i have modify the data as a parameter, it display all the dates which actually does not relates to the specified reports in concern ( it was there due to the merging of all time records to one table). Now, how do i filter the unnecessary dates pertaining to that report Using join or where

This table is created logically during the cube design

Thanks.

When i create the report with a Time dimension, date as parameter for using to select, the dataset contains all the dates that is stored in the cube. However i only want to show relevant dates that have results. The reason for the additional dates is becuase I have combined all dates of various dimensions in to a Time Dimension table. Now I have problem filtering out those irrevelant ones. Either I filter them in the parameter, or using the Show Empty cells. But of course the former approach is better for users need to scroll through so much information.

How should I filter time dimension parameter with only relevant results

Thanks.

Hi:

you can use CoalesceEmpty()

like this :

with MEMBER [Measures].[test1] AS 'CoalesceEmpty([Measures].[test], 0)'

then the empty values of [Measures].[test] will be 0

i hope this can help you

Edith

I have created a calculated measure with

iif(ISEMPTY([Measures].[Minutes]),0,[Measures].[Minutes])

This is too novice stuff, but it worked for me. Smile
