DTS is the best solution..It will allow to schedule.. You can find your scheduled DTS on enterprise manager under

SERVER\Management\SQL Server Agent\Jobs ..

Check your SQL Server Agent is running or not...

U can do it By using DTS package or SQL Agent.

If u choose DTS package - Menu Bar -> Tools -> Data Transformation Services ->

Import Data or Export Data

If u choose SQL Agent - Select Server -> Management -> Sql Server Agent -> Jobs

Yes you are absolutly correct.

Check Your SQL Server Agent is running or not. If not start that service. otherwise your scheduled DTS wont work.

In SQL Agent Jobs, check that the Job to execute the DTS Package is enabled, then also check that the schedule is enabled -then verify that SQL Agent is running.
