replication folder's didn't locate local publications,need help!

Hi,
i'm doing POS system by using C# in visual studio 2005. Recently, i installed the microsoft sql server management studio on my pc, i plan to do merge replication through local publications between my pocket pc and my pc. So, i opened the replication file which is under Object Explorer in microsoft sql server management studio, it ONLY show me the local subscription folder under the replication file.Do i install incomplete set of microsoft sql server management studio Local publications and local subscription, which one is more suitable for POS system

If you have installed MS SQL Server 2005 express edition, then you will not be able to see Local publications. You need MS SQL Server 2005 for this.

Thank you for your reply. By the way, i have installed MS SQL Server 2005. I have uninstalled and re-installed it many times and this time,i got another problem beside the problem as above.When I opened MS SQL Server 2005 with Database Engine Server Type and I was facing a problem where is the connection failed to connect to my server. However, when I opened MS SQL Server 2005 with SQL Server Mobile Server Type,it connected and under Object Explorer, it showed the subscription folder under the replication folder and it didn't show the publication folder under the replication folder. What should i need to do Do you have any suggestion

Did you configure this server as a publisher What happens when you try to create a publication

Local publications are more appropriate if you are creating a publication on the server. The local subscriber folder will display local subscriptions.

No, i couldn't configure this server as a publisher because under my replication folder, it ONLY shows out the Local Subscriptions and i don't know where to create the Local Publications folder.

I installed the TRIAL version of microsoft sql server 2005 which i downloaded from microsoft website download; is it the TRIAL version of microsoft sql server 2005 is similar as microsoft sql server 2005 express where 2 of the software also EXCLUDE the Local Publications folder

Hi,
Recently i has installed the TRIAL version of sql server 2005 where i downloaded it from microsoft's website. i plan to replicate the database for my mobile phone application project.I failed to find a 'local publications folder' which it supposes under the replications folder.I heard that the sql server 2005 express edition did not contain a 'local publications folder' which is under the replications folder, and i wonder whether the TRIAL version of sql server 2005 that i have installed in my pc is similar as sql server 2005 express edition.Do any experts know the different with the TRIAL version, Express Edition and Original Edition

hi I have d same prob. Sql Server Management Studio only shows Local Subscriptions...did u solve it any ideas ...I neet 2 make a local publication...
