Hello,

in Query Analyzer I had the possibility to choose the default location to store query definitions. Is there the same possibility also in SS Management Studio

Many thanks

Hello ggciubuc,

thanks for your answer but I asked for a way to save query definition, not query result, in query analyzer this was possible, i'm looking for a way also in SSMS, if there's not an option to me is ok also to use registry or some conf file.

many thanks

Do you just want to save the query Just use the disk symbol in the icon bar.

I want to know if it's possible to change the default path that SSMS propose me when I click save button to save a query definition. In query Analyzer you can see that going to : Tools\Options\QueryFileDirectory.

Thanks in advance

I'm trying to find the same thing - how to set the *default location* for saving the text of queries I write in SQL Server Mgmt Studio. Help anyone Since I can't find anything in the interface to set this, my next move would be to search the registry for part of the current default location, which for me is "My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\Projects" to try to find a registry entry that stores this.
