I was using detach & attach method to move few 2000 databases to the instance 2005 on the same server...After moving a couple of databases which worked fine...Now i am not able to log into 2000 database...i guess the default database which i was connected had been moved at so its not letting me in to 2000 server..

Hi,

I think problem exists in SQL server 2005 after attaching the db from sql 2000. You can refer to the below link to solve the problem.

I guess the default db for the login Test has been changed or no longer exist ! so try to login with some sysadmin Id and change the default db for the login Test and then try connecting !

As Deepak said the default database for the login should be available... Login as SA or any sysadmin login and change the default database for this particular login

check this query

EXEC sp_defaultdb 'aaa', 'master'
