    - Analysis Services Lock-ups You are right, AS 2005 has centralized all of the calculations and as a result may not scale out as well as AS2K. AS 2005 is pretty much version 1 of a new architecture and there is not too much that can be done about this. There is a Timeout option which you can add to the connection string to force queries to timeout after a given amount of time, but this could be hard to administer. The only other option I can think of is that you can synchronize a database across more that one server and set them up in an NLB cluster, but this would be an expensive option if you were only adding the second server in order to be able to cater for runaway queries. Even then I am not sure if the NLB software is smart enough to not still have some clients being "locked out" by a runaway query. Tag: Add list as parent for rectangle in rdl

    - Version for procedures I highly recommend adopting a rigorous configuration management routine, using a good source control tool. The latest (and free) version of SourceSafe is greatly improved and no longer deserving of most of its past criticism. You can check-in/check-out directly from SSMS. (I prefer using SQL Server for source control in [Team System for Database Professionals].) If you are using SQL 2005, the table sys.procedures will provide the [Create_Date] and the [Modify_Date]. Also, the [Schema Change History] report provides the -[Modify_Date]. And unfortunately, VB 6 and ADO have limited facility to handle the situation without writing code. As you indicated, the issue is a stress point between the applications' display using regional settings, and the server storing decimal values. VB.NET provides a rich facility to handle regional setting differences. This may be a good 'excuse' to push for the upgrade. You could have the app 'sniff' the Regional settings from the registry, and then wrap a REPLACE function around the textbox.text, removing periods, and then swapping commas for periods, before storing the data. Yes, it is expecte behavior that they are being re-used, that are static after all. And in order to use static variables, your assembly has to be deployed as UNSAFE. Printing to a real printer or export to pdf shows "Printing Now..." and w3wp.exe service on server starts consuming 100% CPU!!! I tired to run/print the same report from VS2005 and RSReportHost.exe dies while printing. After further analysis, we found that there was a field in a subreport that was extremely long... so long that it was spilling over a page's height. Hi! I have a report designed with all the tables in the rectangles on the rdl. Right now,

I need add "list" control on the top of those rectagles(including all the tables) so

all the rectangles have list as parent I

don't want to start over to just for adding the list. I was trying to edit report xml file

to add the "list" on the top of rectangles but the compiler complains. The rectangle

property has "parent" field ,which is "body" right now. How can I make it's parent as "list" This

field is grey out so I can not change it in the property window. Any idea Thanks.
