Hi, I have problems burning (many files) cd's or dvd's with the live file system format. When i choose that option it start copying something to the media but it hang just after start and the only way going off that windows is cold reboot. Mastered copies are ok
If I just copy one single file with live file system format i have no problem at all!!!!!

Thank you for reporting this issue to you. I need some additional information from you in order to get to the bottom of this issue.
What is the drive model that you are using This should be available through device manager.
When the hang occurs is this limited to just the copy process or the entire OS stops responding at this stage

HI,
The drive is Slimtype DVD A DS8AZ ATA Device
This is a Ligthscribe drive
The driver I'm using is Microsoft's 6.0.6000.16386
I was doing some more research and here is the conclusion :
1- If I burn one or several files and if all togheter are less than 1 MB, the process completes ok
2- If I burn one or several files that all togheter are above 1 MB the process hangs
3- If the process hangs there are no record on Event Viewer
4- If the process hangs the DVD becomes unresponsibe and cannot take the media out
5- The OS did not hang but becomes unstable, ex: I cannot open Windows task Manager.

I couldn't find any references to DVD A DS8AZ. Is this what is shown in the device manager
Also can you check the HP site and see if there is any firmware update available for this drive.

First sorry for the very late replay, i was abroad....
Well, my system manager have the folowing information
Slimtype_DVD_A__DS8AZH
Firmawe : NH61
Doing a google search will bring some other people having trouble with these device, no one have find a firmawe upgrade
I reinstalled vista (clean install) but still having the same problem , files copied larger than 1 MB (live file system) crash the copy process and lock the media bay. Only a cold reboot will unlock the media bay.
the strange thing is that if i copied any number of files and all toghether are below 1 MB the process finish without problems
In HP the have nothing about it, i have already post a message in techincal help but still no answer.
