    - GetSystemMetrics( SM_CXPADDEDBORDER ); Hey! I'm upgrading a Win2K/XP MFC/Win32 (no .NET) application to give it a more modern look and feel when running in Vista. I use Visual Studio 2005 C++ and have the February 2003 Platform SDK loaded. The application uses a CDialogBar derived class with an override added for CalcDynamicLayout() so that the dialog bar will always take up all available vertical or horizontal space in the main frame depending on its orientation. The calculation to figure out how much space is available is off by the new border padding used by the Aero theme so the dialog bar is getting cut off on the right side. If I could just get my hands on the size of that border padding, I could subtract it out and get the correct available size. After digging on MSDN, I found that the GetSystemMetrics() call was updated for Vista, providing a new index, SM_CXPADDEDBORDER, to get that size. Since I have the Feb 2003 SDK loaded, SM_CXPADDEDBORDER isn't defined so I added my own #define to set it to 92, which is the number shown in the documentation on http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724385.aspx . The DLL involved is user32.dll. The documentation also states that if the function fails, the return value is 0. My problem is that I'm ALWAYS getting 0, even when running on Vista. I would have thought that the user32.dll supplied with Vista should support this call. Has anyone else run into this Anyone have any clues or suggestions Thanks!     - No sound on my Toshiba Satellite , I've tried many drivers Hi all, Just had this issue and spent a lot of wasted time on it. Here's my story if it helps. It started with an automatic update that generated a system error see KB 935448. Applied fix ok but 2 days later sound died. Updated sound card with latest realtek drivers, no effect. Noticed a WMM driver under sounds in device manager, flagged as error, and removed it. Now all is ok. Hope this helps. I am very surprised that IMAPIv1 doesn't support DVDs because we have been using it in our application for years to burn DVDs on XP. I am not being sarcastic here as I realize that it is possible for something to work but not be supported. I am very pleased to learn how to write to Live File System discs. Somehow I missed the documentation about this. A day or two of frustration. Too bad. My one remaining problem, then, from my other post, " imapi2sample with multisession UDF disk goes into infinite loop on ImportFileSystem", is that when I run the imapi2sample program and try to import from a Live File System disc, I get varying behavior that includes an infinite loop and crashing in ImportFileSystem. This, of course, makes me nervous about using it as a way of detecting Live File System discs. Since the problems aren't happening when my IMAPIv1 app is calling ImportFileSystem behind the scenes, maybe the problem is something specific to imapi2sample. Thanks for your help on this.     - Workflow Tracking performance issue I am not DB expert but 25000 of records seems a lot.. There is some stored procedure, that might help you to partition table rows into more tables, BUT you should know, that if you use SqlTracking object model, all events are loaded from sql tables.. There are no usable infos about workflows, just that something happend, I think you should analyze what do you really need to track, what is customer critical and so on.. Another not much nice hints can be found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/07/03/Foundations/default.aspx Btw you can track only some of the data easily by using TrackData method call inside workflow Executing operations. If you need to log persistance, you can inherit sqlpersistanceservice and overwrite methods for loading and unloading. Upon looking through the wlanapi.h structs, I see that many of them have lists with a fixed size of 1. For example, WLAN_BSS_LIST has wlanBssEntries as: WLAN_BSS_ENTRY wlanBssEntries[1]; If I call WlanGetNetworkBssList, this struct returns with wlanBssEntries being an array of size WLAN_BSS_LIST.dwNumberOfItems. This is as expected. If I return this newly formed struct to a calling function, my calling function receives wlanBssEntries as an array of size one. The sole item in the array is correct, but all of the other items have been cut off and any index into the array beyond that results in garbage.     - Audio Muted during debugging Maybe this is more of a VS2005 question... VisualStudio 2005 Windows XP SP2 448 MB RAM 1.66 GHz Athlon (mobile) I'm working on a DirectShow prototype that runs fine without the debugger attached.... Debug/Release mode both. I can open the executables from Windows Explorer, and everything works as expected. The application puts three nodes into the timeline (source files in sequence), and then plays them back. However, during debugging, the ActiveMovie audio is muted . All the video is rendered, and then IMediaEvent::waitForCompletion() blocks indefinitely... and won't return. This ONLY happens while the debugger is attached. I can get it to stop happening if I set a breakpoint somewhere before "IMediaControl::Run()" (which runs the FilterGraph). If I set that breakpoint, and then F5 to resume debugging, the audio renders fine. I've quit out, rebooted, and restarted the project. Like I said; I've already checked all the return values from each of the interface-methods that build and setup the graph; I made sure the output pins are rendered--it's just that in Debug mode... if I "let it fly" without a breakpoint, I don't get audio. Another pertinent piece of information: The output window of the debugger seems to fire some C++ exceptions right about the time that "IMediaControl::Run()" is called... but they are handled (I guess inside the loaded .dlls) .......     - I'm having the same issue - Config_Products_Detect failed I realize this is a bit hacky, but try removing Windows Debugging Tools from your selections and try again. That can often cause the download/install problems. We had some issues integrating their MSI files with ours. hi,
I am doing a smart device project where I need to put a text on a running video....By Win32 application it can be done...but when I select smart device project in visual studio 2005 , I am facing problem.The problem is it is unable to find out CLSID_VideoMixingRenderer9.
I included all the header files & library also.But unable to do that.
Can anybody suggest me, or tell me any other method that can be used in my prj. for CLSID_VideoMixingRenderer9.Please help me.
