I'm trying to convert this one AVI (XVID) to DVD using Windows DVD Maker. Every single time (tried it 4 times), I get this error at 99.0%:
The owner SID on a per-user subscription doesn't exist

What is this error I tried with multiple DVD, and still get this.

I'm using an NEC DVD-/+R burner (don't know the exact model).

I am having the exact same problem. The conversion process gets to 99% and i get the message:

"The owner SID on a per-user subscription doesn't exist".

I have looked for help on google, but nothing else seems to apply to our situation.

not that this helps, but I get the same problem. But only on certain avi's. It is annoying because it takes like 2 hours to make the dvd then you get the error. The only file it has happened to me was a 2 hr 20 min movie, I don't know if the length is an issue or not.

I get this too, regardless of what I'm trying to burn. I've ruined 6 DVD disks trying different things.

Can we get an answer to this please

Hi all...

I might be jumping the gun here, but i am rather excited... I recently updated my Graphic Card Drivers to the Vista drivers from the ATI site (I have a ATI Radeon 9600). Don't think that i have changed anything else...

Last night i tried to copy a different DVD and it worked. So today i am trying the one that did not work in the past and i will let you know tomorrow.

Holding thumbs...

I have the same problem with WMV files. I don't know which file it is since I'm adding 21 small files. Guess I will have to do this the old way if I can't get Windows DVD maker work.

**edit**

I used the same files, set the data back to Sept 1st and it worked.

No Joy.....

The old AVI still does not work, so it seems to be movie specific.

HSChronic, set his "date" back, that sounds interesting.

Hi all...

Seems that no-one else is going to help us here.

I have in the meantime formatted and re-installed vista. I loaded the K-Lite Codec pack and now all of the movies that did not burn in the past are finishing successfuly.

So best of luck to all of you...

Actually, this is very odd. But I think I have an idea of what is causing the problem. What I believe, it is the resolution of the DVD or some type of video you are installing. I do not think it is yet designed for normal DVDs. It's very time-consuming to explain.

I'm having the same problem. Is there not a solution I am trying to burn MPEG-2 files to DVD using Windows DVD Maker.

Please help!

Bump!

I am also having this problem. Tried making a 2 minute long DVD. The original source was a .AVI container using a xvid video stream.

What gives

I just used a different DVD and it worked this second time (DVD-r) - the one that didn't work was a DVD+r - but I'm not sure if this was the cause.

Hello, I've got the same problem. My error message is in Finnish thought, but still it is the same.

I just a few days back recorded multiple files as chapters (.wmv) from my DV camera film to my vista computer (home premium). I thought the feature to record you movies was nice, too bad you can't make a use of the with windows dvd Maker, because of this error.
