not more than a few days ago I encountered a problem with Vista Premium's Tray Bar. - A battery icon dissapeared and was unrecoverable through the "Taskbar and Start menu Propertiess -> Notification Area "-menu.

I managed to bring it back, though, by removing the battery of my notebook completly and then inserting it again.

Now I'm oh so thrilled to say that an additional TWO icons have dissapeared, and like the formerly missing battery icon, they're greyed out, and are thus unclickable in the "Taskbar and Start menu Propertiess -> Notification Area "-menu.

I am now missing my Network Icon as well as my Volume Icon.

Im getting pretty tired of this, and I really hope some of you can help me with this. those icons are important for me, to avoid longer folder-click by folder-click, to acces the same utilities.

That they're greyed out and thus unclickable, is the real issue, and I really need to have it fixed.

What should I do

Re: Notebook, Tablet PC, and UMPC Development Yet another missing and automatically unrecoverable icon

Hi Evrae

I am sorry to hear this. It's bizarre to me, as my expertise is in Tablet, Notebook, and UMPC development, as it is for most of the attendees of this forum. Your situation is probably better known to those who specialize in end-user issues. You are far more likely to find an expert who has the immediate answer to your question if you ask this on the Windows Vista General Discussion[1] newsgroup or the Windows Vista Hardware and Devices[2] newsgroup.

Good luck getting this resolved.
