Hello CardSpace Crowd,

I am working very much part time on integrating simple PoC that uses Liberty Alliance with InfoCard being provisioned instead of anything else. In order to do some work have to have CardSpace from user perspective working i.e. working wallet.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me, no matter what I try.
I have Installed extension for FireFox and IE7, .NET 3.0 and it always crashes once wallet applet displays or rather tries to display the content. So if I open Card Space from within Control Panel it crashes throwing 'Class not Registered' exception and I have no way of debugging it, as I am out of my depths when it comes to .NET and Win.

When I try to install any card (https://www.xmldap.org/relyingparty/ or http://labs.pingidentity.com/) it crashes in the second step of interaction with the wallet, I mean as soon as you click Accept Card. Actually just double checked and for xmldap it crashes with the message 'Managed card couldnot be installed. Please contact your card provider'.

Anyway no luck with reinstalling .NET3.0, with the WInFX removal tool, with reinstall of all .NET stuff I can find. I could find few posts (literary handful) of people with the seame problem, but no sollution so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Daniel

Have you checked the Event Viewer Details about CardSpace exceptions are logged there.

Can you also tell us what version of CardSpace you're running

You can look up the version in the file properties > version tab for the following files:
c:\Windows\system32\icardagt.exe
c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation\infocard.exe

Hello there,
so there is no info in log regarding the crash of the wallet. Only in application section it says that idsvc started successfully. Any other paths I could check Best regards and thanks for help!

Hey Toland, both files you have mentioned have version no. 3.0.4506.30

Any other clues I can install Visual Studio 2005 and try to run some debuggers, if that is possible to control runtime environment and capture some more data, but would need to ask you for some help, like at least pointers to which debugers to run. I would find how myself. I am going to install fresh WinXP on a fresh virtual machine and try clean .NET 3.0 install there to see. Will keep you posted.

Best regards,

Daniel

Have you checked your event viewer (start > run > eventvwr) and under Applications look for events logged by CardSpace and idsvc and see if there are any errors.

Also, is your filesystem FAT32 or NTFS

Hey Toland,

I have checked my event viewer. I posted it few posts above.

So I have not managed to run it on my developement machine at all :/

Hoever installing fresh windows SP2 with fresh .NET make the whole thing work - would be good to know why, but time/resources issue are playing against me, so I just take it as a fact and run my work on a special virtual machine, which unfortunately is slow.

Anyway, thanks for suggestions!

Daniel

You mentioned you tried to reinstall .NetFx 3.0, and had used the Removal Tool. Were you able to successfully reinstall .NetFx 3.0 after running the removal tool
