    - Avi mux problem Hi, i have a capture graph like VideoSource -> VideoEncoder (DV25) -> AviMux -> FileWriter AudioSource ->AudioEncoder (PCM) -> Avi mux props are Interleaving__FULL, frequency 120 ms, audio preroll 0 ms. This graphs works for 1 min, 1 hour, 3hour captures. But fails in 2 hour and 4 hour capture ! Also works for 2 hour and 1 seconds. The error is; audio corrupts in a certain time (1:57:20) and video not continue. Sorry, I misunderstood and thought you were already had a profile associated and wanted to modify it. On possibility would be to always return a "default" profile from your TryGetProfile(Type, out TrackingProfile). This will associate the tracking runtime with the instance during the WorkflowRuntime.Create call. After Create returns you can reload the tracking profiles and generate a profile for the specific instance. But to back up a bit - why do you need a workflowInstanceId to create a profile Are you creating a custom profile for each workflow If so does this need to be by instance Could it be by workflow type If you have a profile per type you'll get the instance id for each TrackingChannel that is requested. Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble here with logging into Windows XP Pro SP2 after adding a new SATA HDD to install Windows Vista Home Premium. I have 2 partitions on HDD 1 which I had XP Pro installed. I just added a new HDD and made 2 partitions on that too to install Vista HP. I have Vista Home Premium upgrade DVD disc (retail) and in order for me to install it, I have to install XP Pro on it first, then do the upgrade. Well to make a long story short, I finished installing Vista on the 2nd drive and it works fine (except for the Audigy 2 ZS sound card problem everyone has been having). So pretty much I wanted to run both OS on the same computer by dual-booting. So I tried to run XP Pro again and everything loads up fine up until the LOGIN screen. I typed my username and password in to log in. Clicked OK and it did say something but it went away so fast I couldn't read what it was saying, but instead it says "Logging Off.." and it stays there for a very long time. I don't know if it was supposed to restart my computer (logoff) or just stay there until I turn my computer off manually. So please, could someone advise me what to do I got lots of stuff on the XP side I want to run. I could still access it by running Vista, but that wasn't the whole point of me dual-booting. Is there any other Canon codec that can allow to save as raw image If not, can I save the pixel values as other image format(jpeg, tiff, etc..) Could you recommand the best way You can resave the image as a TIFF. Basically you can copy over the frames from the RAW file to the encoder for TIFF. If you take a look at the WICExplorer code, there is an example of how to "transcode" an image from one format to another. <Question 2> I'd like to check what the decoded pixel values mean. The decoded pixel values of raw image are not yet processed. If the decoded pixel values are not processed values, I have to know what the pixel values mean exactly because I 'd like to modify the pixel values before the values are changed to low-dynamic-range values(like 0-255). Also, after modifying, I have to convert this data to low-dynamic-range value(0-255) to rendering at monitor. Where I can find this kinds of information If the decoded pixel values are already processed values, I'd like to want to know the range of the values. RAW CODECs should implement the IWICDevelopRaw interface. You can QI for this interface and then process the pixels that way.     - Windows Photo Gallery tags created under Vista missing in Windows XP I have taged thousands of pictures using Windows Vista Photo Gallery Live Beta. I observe that when I move these pictures to Windows XP and use photo gallery on XP, no tags are found. They are still there because if I use the latest version of Picassa, it finds the tags. I also observe that looking at the properties of the .jpg files under Windows XP shows no Keywords and looking at the IPTC data shows that any IPTC keywords that were present in the files before adding the tags in Vista have been removed.     - Page Limit? did you also see that massive memory usage when printing your 10,000 page XPS file I have tried to print 5,000-10,000 Visuals via the Visuals-batchwriter and I've got ~2gig of swapfile size and ~1gig for the process... and it got slower and slower when printing to a legacy printer... and it even "crashed" and just rebootet the pc (guess it was a BSOD because of OutOfMemory) sometimes...     - Vista MUI functionality under Windows XP Greetings to all I have a problem with using LoadMUILibrary() function and MUI technology under Windows XP. I tried to use Vista MUI technology which is supposed to work under previous version of Microsoft OS. I want to solve the problems with localization my application. I want to make one project which contain neutral resources for example icons, bitmaps, etc. And projects which contain language specified resources for each language. So, The main benefit, we can use LoadMUILibrary which make HMODULE which contain handle to both neutral and language specified resources. Then we change default resource handle using AfxSetResourcesHandle(). There're no resources in exe module. And therefore it's not necessary to indicate HMODULE for some load resource functions which load neutral resources. Otherwise, it's not necessary to duplicate all neutral resources in each language dll library. So, for all load functions resource handles would be clear. But, when I did test version of my application I saw that It's working under Windows Vista, but under Windows XP, HModule didn't indicate neutral resources, so it's impossible to load both neutral and language specified resources using one HModule under WinXP. Does anybody know about it Microsoft says that this technology is working under XP.     - OpenProcessToken returns Access Denied Hi, I have a service running under a local user account (which is a member of the local Administrators group). This service has to launch an application for a currently logged on user (a different user). These are my steps: 1. Find a well known process id (explorer.exe) that is ran by a logged on user. 2. Adjust privileges to get SE_DEBUG_NAME enabled. 3. Use h = OpenProcess( PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS, .... ) to get a handle to the process. 4. Use OpenProcessToken(h, TOKEN_QUERY | TOKEN_IMPERSONATE | TOKEN_DUPLICATE, .... ) to get a user token. <--- this is the step that is always failing with access denied error. If I use Local System to run the service, it works perfect. Administrator - not.     - windows vista and modem dialup issues I recently did a Vista upgrade on a laptop that was supposedly Vista ready. I found that I couldn't get to the internet with the version of PeoplePC that I was using. I sent for a Vista-friendly version and can now log on but every time I try to download anything, including Windows updates, I get disconnected. I have the phishing filter turned off so that's not the problem. Vista seems to be designed for broadband. A service pack exists but Microsoft seems to think that regular updates online will be enough to fix any problems. SURE! Start downloading updates and keep re-dialing to finish.     - TransactionScope, State Machine, and Oracle DB I'm still new with this, so please ask if you need more data. I have an ASP.Net project, for approval process. For simplicity, let's say I'm creating a leave request approval system. I created 1 workflow (XYZ), with the following states: - Submitted - Approved - Rejected From "Submitted" state, only have 2 event handler, to receive "Approve" and "Reject" event. If "Approve" event is received, the state is changed to Approved. The same goes for "Reject", goes to Rejected. No codes is used, just plain state change. Not using transaction scope also, since the step is only to chnage state to another one. Now, from the asp.net page, depending on whether the user click Approve or Reject, the page will send the appropriate event to the workflow. Afterwards, the page will do some updating to to Oracle, updating table A, table B, table C. Now, all these steps are within TransactionScope in the asp.net page. If an exception happens, the page will rollback the transaction. During our testing, if an exception happens, all our updates to table A, B, and C is rolled back. But the state change in the workflow is not rolled back. I mentiond about persistence because I'm afraid it does have something to do with it. I'm using default persistence provider to SQL Server, with default setting in the web.config (persist on idle). I'm not using tracking right now. I never read anywhere that the current WF does not support global transaction.     - Wow6432Node inserted into RegSetValueEx call I've been lucky in that my application (WinPatrol) doesn't do anything tricky that required special support for x64 machines. I've had a number of x64 users with no complaints but something appears to have changed in Vista. When I call RegSetValueEx and pass it my registry location Vista is inserting "Wow6432Node" into the string so the values are written to a registry node off HKLM\SOFTWARE\ Wow6432Node \.... Is this something new for Vista If not, it hasn't been a problem. Yesterday, I had a user report an error which indicates the same Wow6432Node isn't being added when I called RegQueryValueEx. This obviously is a big problem.     - What do you do with a WorkflowCompilerResult? These are probably stupid questions, but I can see how you can compile a .xoml and rule file together using the Workflow compiler. Two questions I have: 1. If I am compiling into an output assembly, this output assembly will have my workflow plus any other referenced activities. I suppose the purpose of doing this would be to be able to change the .xoml and recompile and when the host referencing this library is ready to start the workflow it has a new version I'm just trying to figure out, what do you do with the output here, use it as a reference in the host 2.     - Playing AVIs and DirectShow Hello I'm trying to develop a game engine using C++, and have been using DirectX... Direct3D, DirectSound, DirectMusic etc, however when I got to using DirectShow I got told Visual Studio.NET couldn't find amvideo.h. I was wondering if it is possible to use the Silver Worlkflow /WCF integration in Visual Studio. I noticed a recent vidio where they were developing in 2005 .

Does the .NET 3.5 download have any of the designer support in Visual Studio

The main reason is i really want to use Software Factory v3.0 but a 2008 version is not scheduled till next year, and going from Software Factory v2 to 3.0 will not be easy with its model first apporach ( with no code to model support) .

I either need Web Services factoy on 2008 ( not till Feb for first drop according to Don) or Workflow 3.5 in Visual Studio 2005. ( I noticed in the video the dev team was using 2005) .

The WF designer is an optional download for 2005.

In VS 2008 the designer ships in VS. The improvements the 2008 designer includes cannot be installed in 2005. You have to upgrade to VS 2008.

If you install .Net 3.5, you can build applications for it with VS 2005, but some of the designer features will not be available.
