Hello,

I'm trying to convert WMV files that were downloaded through RSS feeds into DVR-MS files for playback in Media Center 2005. I want to encode all of the meta data from the RSS feed into the DVR-MS file.

My questions are can it be done and what is the best way

I have read that DVR-MS is a form of ASF and that it uses MPEG2. So would is be best to convert the WMV files into MPEG2 and then wrap it with ASF. If so what filters do I need to use to convert the WMV files into the MPEG2 files. I have tried using GraphEdit to create a filter graph to convert the file, but I am unable to play the resulting MPEG2 file using Media Player 11.

I have also read that the StreamBufferSink filter could be used to output a DVR-MS file, but I have not been able to get this to work. When I run the filter graph created by GraphEdit, nothing seems to happen. But I can use GraphEdit to create a filter graph using the StreamBufferSource to play a DVR-MS file.

I'm currently trying to use GraphEdit to create a filter graphs for 'proof of concept' before I start coding.

Any help or insight would be greatly apprecated.

Thanks,

-Ken
