    - Wf Designer - dealing with activity properties and circular references Hi all, I have an activity that I've been working on which contains a Participants property(type = List<User>). The data for this property is filled in at design time by my own form\UITypeEditor.The user type was generated by the Linq to Sql designer. It has a one to many relationship with Purchase. That designer generates circular references among types forany foreign key relationship it detects. After adding the List<User> instance to the activities property and saving the workflow, I get serialization problems with User. What's making me nervous here is that the [NotSerializable] attribute is being ignored completely by the serializer. Is the workflow designer using some kind of custom serialzer that ignores these attributes The Circular ref path should have been excluded as I'm telling it to ignore the offending fields at each end of the association. What i'm wondering about is what people are doing when returning messages to the ui. e.g. i've got a webpage which needs to call a state machine workflow which can do some work.     - Time stamping frames in a live video source filter I have tried all the filter samples that come with the DirectShow SDK, and all of them, except the Bouncing Ball filter, behave the same: when capturing an AVI file, the duration of the file is at least 20 times bigger than it should be. The filters behave correctly when playing in the Video Renderer though, so it seams timing has a different meaning for AVI files. My only chance is now the Ball filter, I'll study it more to see what's so special about him.     - Tablet PC's and Terminal Services Hi Jesse. What you are saying makes sense, but it's not a supported scenario. When you use Terminal Server to use a computer, you remotely connect to that computer. The computer you connect to cannot take advantage of your digitizer on the local Tablet PC. You should see (mouse) inking if you use an application like Journal on the remote computer, but any application (such as with Office) that is "clever" and turns features on or off depending on if it detects the Tablet PC functionality, won’t light those inking features up. As you've noticed, Tablet PC Input Panel functionality is very limited through terminal server. With Vista, you can launch Input Panel on the local machine via the Input Panel tab. You can then access handwriting and the soft keyboard. However, much of the handwriting recognition is less accurate than a local Tablet PC. The Input Panel icon (that appears next to a text box, for instance), Auto-spacing, and post-insertion correction do not work, either. If your Tablet PCs are running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, you can launch Input Panel by using the shake gesture. However, with Windwos XP Tablet PC Edition, you may see UI corruption when an application on the terminal server scrolls when behind Input Panel. Although it also is not a supported scenarion, you might want to see what happens if you use a Tablet PC running Windows Vista Ultimate as the remote computer. I haven't tried it, but you may get better results than you are seeing now. Please let me know if you have any other questions.     - Help with TestCase 31 Problem I have a problem with verifying our application in test case 31. The issue is that when I run with AppVerifier enabled the application is behaving entirely different than when it is disabled. Our application is a C++ app built with VisualStudio 2002 SP1. The issue is located in our code that parses an XML file using the MS XML parser.     - Install Workflow VS 2005 extensions Just to make sure you are not running into a common problem. you don't happen to have a setup.exe file in the same directory as the installer for your windows workflow foundation do you One common problem is that this setup.exe gets run instead of the WF extensions for Vs installer. One other thing you could do is copy those target files (workflow.targets & workflow.visualbasic.targets) from another machine and put them at that location. This might just get you further and you'll run into another problem later. One last probably irrelevant thing; are you running 32 bit Vista, or 64 bit If 64 bit then check Program files (x86) and see if the targets are there.
