I do not have any choice to modify the schemas. So if the tool has to work, it has to work on the existing schemas.     - define a new querydef in an access db using asp.net My scenario is this: I have inherited a large access database, critical to a website. I need to do some work on the site which requires that I modify a number of tables and create a few ne querydef so support the work. The obvious soluition is to ftp the db locally, modify the file and upload it. But If possible I do not want to do this. I don't want to lose data and I don't want to take the db offline. So what I would like to do is create an aspx page which I can use to do operations like creae new querydefs. How can I connect to an access db to do these kind of operations As far as I can tell, the regular OleDbConn does not allow me to do these operations - rather I need to use the access object model. I suspect there must be some utility out there on the internet to do this kind of thing (a bit like phpmyadmin).     - The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. Oh yuck, the forms are in the same app. The CLR won't let you load two different versions of an assembly. The only possible approach is isolating the forms in their own assembly and load them into a separate AppDomain. I'm not sure if that is actually possible with the Form type.     - "Deserializing" XmlNode.OuterXml to object, then back to XmlNode questions Ah, I'm extremely sorry, I forgot to mention that if I do strip off the xmlns attribute as you describe above, the element is indeed imported into the original document, but it loses its namespace and cannot be found in the default namespace upon further search using xpath/SelectSingleNode(). If I run XmlDocument.Validate(), I get a schema exception saying that the element wasn't expected in the default namespace. This appears to me to be some lame problem with the XmlNode in memory, because if I close and reopen the application (or load a new XmlDocument with old one's xml string contents), the imported element works perfectly. In summary, I did not intend to mean only to imply that I *can't* remove the explicit namespace declaration (that is done quite easily), but that when I do, the importeded XmlNode behaves very badly in the original XmlDocument. I thought it would be nice is I only had to distribute one dll with my component. The setup I'm using is ( a bit simplified): MyComponent.csproj (Visual Studio web project) .... --References ----umbraco.dll (local reference, Copy Local == false) ----SomeComponent.dll (local reference, Copy Local == true) ----System.Web (GAC reference) .... The reason that I have Copy Local == false on the umbraco.dll is that this dll is part of the solution that my component must be deployed to. The SomeComponent.dll is a component used by my UserControls in my project and this is the dll I would like to merge with MyComponent.dll However if I execute: "ilmerge.exe /out:MyComponent.dll SomeComponent.dll" i get an error message saying: "Unresolved assembly reference not allowed: umbraco" I can however not just include the umbraco.dll since this would result in the classes within the umbraco.dll being defined twice when I deploy the MyComponent.dll in the umbraco web application.     - Strange: calling EndInvoke from an AsyncCallback - why UnhandledException The problem you encounter here is that the CLR will rethrow the exception inside the callback when you call EndInvoke. But it does only check if you do call EndInvoke on the same thread the callback executes. Since you call EndInvoke ulitmately from an arbitrary thread the CLR thinks your callback did not handle the exception and wil rethrow the exception when your callback is left. Because changes like New Record and Delete will not call the update command. Instead they're gonna call their respective commands (Insert & Delete command). Yes, we have a custom built interface that we can pass a SQL statement as text into, so I pass in "Select * from Employees where EmployeeID IN(1, 3)" as a string and it runs the SQL against the database and I get my resultset back. However I prefer, whenever possible, to use the builtin functionality of the .NET framework, so I am trying to find out if the TableAdapter FillBy Query (or even the Stored Procedure) functionality will allow you to pass in a value that would be used in an "IN(" clause. That is a pretty common SQL function and it seems odd to me that the .NET framework tools wouldn't address this functionality in the QueryBuilder.... It wouldn't matter to me if I had to pass it in as a integer array or a string or whatever, my problem is simply that it doesn't appear to be possible in the given toolset.... I have webservice website in ASP.NET2.0 and published these webservices to IIS Server 5.1 on local host .My system has WinXP with sp2. When I try to browse any of webservice then it gives me following error

ASP.NET 2.0 seems to be misconfigured on your system. to fix this run these two commands one after the other:
