How do i solve this

Try registering the dll in the registry.

regsrv32.exe advpack.dll

Mark McGinty

That would be regsvr.exe, not srv...

---------------------------
RegSvr32
---------------------------
advpack.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found.

This file can not be registered.
---------------------------
OK

Sorry about the typo. From what I can tell the advpack.dll is part of the internet explorer. I do not know where there are any setup programs for ie for 64bit os. I would got to windows update and load all security updates for IE and try again. If you are still having the problem you might have to do a repair of windows.

Unpack the files by invoking dotnefx /C

Then run the setup manually.

i got this advpack.dll error when inadvertently trying to install the x64 bit edition instead of x86 on a windows 2003 server - basic but worth checking!
