Sorry, but this is all very new to me - I think that this is the right venue for this question:

Just tried to install MS Robotics Studio - on my XP Home Version / Service Pack 2 machine. Intallation went "OK" with the exception of the following error:

Microsoft XNA Framework (Beta)

An error occurred during the installation of assembly Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game, verions = "1.0.0.0", culture = "neutral" publicKeyToken = "F48FA5F25E27E" processor Architecture - "MSIL". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8002802F

Machine was in the midst of installing .net 3.0, AgeiaPhysX, Microsoft XNA and DirectX Runtime Components.

Any suggestions related to where to go to work on this problem. MS Visual Programming Language starts, but I get what appears to be a system execution error when the program runs.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Bob

Re: .NET Framework Setup Microsoft XNA Framework (Beta) - HRESULT: 0x8002802F

Hi Bob, were you installing those other components at the same time as Robotics Studio

On thing you might try is downloading the XNA Framework Redist and installing that separately. The framework installer can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyId=2E136A1F-F187-478C-9DA5-AAEB0904782B&displaylang=en

Now that may not fix the problem, especially if the error caused the Robotics Studio installer to exit early. If you still have problems, I recommend uninstalling the robotics studio, rebooting, and re-installing from scratch.

HRESULT value 0x8002802F means "function not defined in specified DLL" and it typically means there is a problem with the file %windir%\system32\mscoree.dll on the system. I suggest trying to repair the .NET Framework 2.0 and then try the install again and see if that resolves this issue.

Thanks! Aaron
