Initially I thought I could simply add the file as a Reference to my project, however, I found this didn't work because the .dll was not written with managed code. I have a typed DataSet with two tables, tblHeader and tblDetail, related by a FK relationship declared in the DataSet designer. After making inserts and changes to both tables, I want to use the TableAdapters to write the changes to MSSQL. After doing the Update on tblHeader, however, the RowState of rows in tblDetail is changed to Unchanged, and no update occurs when I use the tblDetail TableAdapter. You can easily reproduce in the RoutingClient project in the SecureRouting WSE 3.0 sample. Just change the client's policy to use one of the "username" assertions. I've gotten a little farther by using proxy->RequestSoapContext->Credentials->SetCredentials to specify a "credential set", but it either doesn't like the actor value I use or for some reason doesn't send the password when connecting to the router. My ultimate goal is to implement a router service that validates a user with some token service and then passes on the user credentials along with a new token to an inner service.     - Mouse Related functions in Windows XP I would like to capture the mouse's left click event and convert it to a right-click. A few examples of utilities that implement this, are: DialKeys (for the UMPC), Fujitsu made a utility for the P1510D Notebook/Tablet PC, and Samsung also implemented this for the Q1 in their "TouchMon" utility. The reason I am looking for a solution like this is that in a UMPC there is no easy way to right-click. I am looking for a utility which I can run (.exe) which will then convert my next mouse click into a right-click. After performing the right-click, the mouse should function normally.     - Determining local or network environment within program Hey guys! I have a question about determining what kind of access a program has. This is the problem - there is an object whose data is populated via a web service (which gets data from the database) or via local access to the database. In the scenario where the application has no web access, I need the program to know that it should use the local access to populate the object. At this point, this is what is happening: if httpcontext object is null, then populate object using direct access to db. else populate object using web service.     - Calling 32-bit COM object fails 80040154 I have a .NET project that normally calls into 32-bit COM objects. I would like to port it to 64-bit but there is one COM object that must remain 32-bit. When the project runs, it gives an error "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {...} failed due to the following error: 80040154." The error is 'Class not registered'. Having researched the issue, on 64-bit Windows my 32-bit COM dlls are registered in HKCR\Wow6432Node\CLSID instead of the normal HKCR\CLSID. When my .NET project runs in 32-bit, it looks to HKCR\Wow6432Node\CLSID and finds the correct object there. When it runs 64-bit, it looks to HKCR\CLSID and doesn't find it. I thought if I compiled my interop assembly to only target 32-bit, it might work. However, the 64-bit app did not like working with the 32-bit interop assembly at all.     - Help connection to a database. The authentication takes place when i execute connection.Open() An exception is thrown that says that I don't have the permissions to open the database. It's an XP machine, so i set the folder's permissions and the database file's permissions to include Everybody just for now. I have to set " Jet OLEDB atabase Password" equal to my password. But I don't know how check that it was set before trying to execute Open . When I set a breakpoint, and view the properties of my oledbconnection object, "Database Password" isn't listed. This is because from what I can tell, it's not actually a property of oledbconnection object, but of the provider Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0. Let me repeat, that I havn't changed any code. The code that I originally posted above works in the .NET 1.1 environment. The .NET 2.0 environment throws an exception at connection.Open() Let me also repeat that the database exists and works. I can open it through Access, and I can open it through the VS2005 Database Connection wizard, and view that connections properties and see where a "Database Password" property exists and the password was stored. When you add and use a database in your project using the tools and panels of Visual Studio it usually automatically creates a configuration file for you and stores the connection string in there. It's added in the solution explorer along with your forms and other items. Just double click it and it will open, you'll see the connection string. This seems reasonable. If you read my first post you can see that I did try the the WOW mode and that worked for one of the components licensing, but broke the other components licensing.     - IPv6 Multicast hello, I have written a C code to receive a IPv6 multicast from a Remote-NDIS device usb connected to my PC having Windows XP. But the problem I am facing is that ,even though the device multicasts some data to my PC, I am not able to recv. Majority of the times when I restart my PC, it works fine and receives the data. I use ethereal to see whether is the device actually pumping data. It every time does show data being multicasted. I tried giving priority to interface,but still works adhocly sometimes... the steps I foloow are 1. Neither should be disposable your InfoClass as it does not use unmanaged resources. The only reason (for the code I can see) for seeing 1 as live count is ultraGrid1, which use your list as datasource.     - Business layer passing results from a SQLDatareader Hi, I'm creating a business layer to access an SQL database cycle through the data for validation and pass the clean data onto an ASP form. I am currently retrieving the results into a SQLDatareader into my class file. I loop through the reader and validate the data. Should I place the results into an array Is that the best way to pass that data via code to my VB code for the ASP form. Can I transfer that into a datatable or something similar. I don't mind cycling through the records in the VB part of the ASP form but I don't want to persist any SQL connections.     - How do you 'Join' a background worker thread? I am using a 'BackgroundWorker' object to impliment multithreadeding because it provides a really neat way of passing events into the main UI thread. My problems occur when it is time to halt the background worker thread. I can easily signal the thread to exit via synchronization objects and if desired I can service the 'RunWorkerCompleted' event later on but what I can NOT neatly do is wait for the thread to exit after I have signalled it to do so. If this was a thread I had instantiated myself I could call its 'Join' method but I can find no equivalent for the BackgroundWorker - nor can I see anyway to get hold of its thread to call join on it myself. I can bodge something up using synchronization objects so that the thread loop releases an object just before it exits and the terminating function 'Waits' on this object. But this approach causes problems during debug. Is there any way to perform a 'Join' or some equivalent operation on a background worker thread.     - sproc to determine if query will produce Invalid SqlNotificationEventArgs event I'm using an SqlDependency so I'll get an alert when the data under a query changes. When the query does not meet the criteria spelled out here http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aewzkxxh.aspx then I immediately get a SqlNotificationEventArgs event with the "Invalid" note. This is good. I would like to know that a query is invalid before I try it with my ASP.NET application. I think this problem started when I removed the trail version of a C# Profiler [ from a vendor that I can't name under NDA ]

It seems that the profiler installed a hook somewhere to start itself whenever I start any C# / .net app.

Does anyone know where the hook could be installed I would like to remove the hook without reimaging my laptop....

To enable profiling you have to set in your Environment the COR_PROFILER environment variable to the CLSID of your NDA Profiler. If it has been removed you can simply go to your environment settings of your computer and remove the COR_PROFILER environment variable. That should do the trick.
