hello, I have survey results from a database that was created with the CMS Joomla. I would like to import the Db into access 2003. My problem is that the CMS Db that has been created has put all of the data results (question answers) into one column. ie. name, address, phone etc.

Each question answered has its own ID. Can I create a DB in Access that will allow me to map the results into new fields based on the ID number for the questions. That way I could create my own column headings and have the Id that is associated with each question as a column heading. This would enable me to create a column heading for name and all the name and have all the names in that column within its own field. Currently the DB is limited on what can be queried. Unfortunately the DB created by the CMS cannot be altered.

regards
Steve

Does this database have ODBC or OLEDB support If not, how can it be accessed

No it doesn't have either. It is to be stand alone. It is for a presentation. The Db will reside on a pc.

thanks

The original Db was created with mysql. Does this mean the fieldsets and columns have to be formatted before it is imported into access

No, if you're working directly with a MySQL database table you should be able to create a linked table to the Access database using the MySQL ODBC driver.
