    - Error in saving Mashup! Just to be clear this is a very bad thing loosing your work like this . We have known issues with LiveID where this can occur, basically if you Live ID is single sign on so you sign into one site and other sites can use that login ticket, consquently when you sign out of one you sign out of all of them :-( which can have severe repcussions for us.     - Advanced Facebook Mashup Alright, so I was hoping to build a facebook mashup that was beyond simply retrieving facebook photos and throwing them into another photo app block. However, I find that the facebook block that is provided isn't robust enough to do much else. My idea was something as simple as retrieving facebook wall posts from the profile page, selecing one at random, and then displaying it in a larger, prettier font. All I've got under a facebook heading on right side of project page is: Post item on facebook Add to my profile When using the "Add to my profile" menu option it does look like it is doing what the "embed in facebook" action does, just all the videos and tutorials I've seen have the latter menu option in the project details page.     - VE and Windows Presentation Foundation Thank you John I had a look at those and they look very impressive but as with a Winforms control they all use the browser control and are basically a wrapper for the underlying VE API. My own VE Winform control works in exactly the same way. My question was somewhat loaded and a prompt to the VE development team for a native VE WPF control where the VE API is native .Net rather than JavaScript and AJAX. Although we are still all learning WPF and it is still very early stages for this technology, the thought of the performance gains when plotting and rendering large numbers of pushpins/polygons etc is extremely tempting. However these gains can only be achieved where the map tiles and graphics are directly drawn onto the canvas of the control. In this respect the control would have to be an http client where the control rather than a browser contained within the control is calling the map tiles. My personal opinion is that a native VE WPF control would be an excellent showcase for Microsoft not only for VE but their WPF technology. Equally with MS SQL 2008 soon to be released and with a VE WPF control available, it would place Microsoft in an extremely competitive position not only in terms of leapfrogging Google maps in technological terms but as serious challengers to the traditional GIS vendors. With this new page and the identical javascript using the same methods we get a "pop-up" that must be submitted (clicked on) by the user after which the directions continue rendering. We are going to ship it with only the directions on the one page if necessary but would rather have the MSN WiFi Hotspot Locator look and behave the way we would expect it to.     - API Status I have been getting "[SOAP Exception -1]" all morning and none of our code has changed, nd nothing on the server has changed either. It seems that issues mainly show up after schedule maintenance...like this past weekend. get free data of all large cities and corresponding countries with Lat Long values from lets say http://www.geonames.org/export/
import into your database
when user clicks, query this database for nearest place passing in Lat Long and doing the radius sql calc
Thats your user click location by nearest city
