I would like to display a VE map - road or hybrid - with larger labels than you normally get. I am referring to the geographic labels - cities, mountains, roads, rivers, etc. - that are drawn by VE into the road and hybrid tiles, not to the pushpin labels one creates on the map.

Is there a way to do this

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello

Unfortunaly VE using labels that are actually part of the map image, they are not a seperate layer so cannot be enlarged in any way. The only way you could achieve this effect is to use just the aerial image view and add your own placenames as custom pushpins with each places name as the html text for the pushpin.

If you want the basic data for towns, mountains etc I suggest you take a look at http://www.geonames.org/ which has this data available free for many counties.

Sorry there is no quick and easy answer for VE.

Thanks. I was afraid that was the answer. With ever-incresing resolution on displays and the large variety of display sizes - smart phones to laptops to desktop displays - it seems it would be very useful to have the ability to specify label size.

If your using IE7 in the status bar (bar at the bottom) you can zoom the entire web page. Setting to 200% will allow you to read the labels more clearly.
