I'm trying to figure out how the VE map on Weather.com (http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/33436 from=36hr_topnav_undeclared) is working with both the Opera and Safari browsers. The same browsers do not work with my project or maps.live.com. I can't even get a basic map to display.

Has The Weather Channel worked out some sort of deal with MS to unblock these browsers or is there some sort of hack

Looking at it a bit more it looks like they are somehow embedding the VE map in Flash.

Yes it a propriatry flash control using the tiles from VE. There are also Silverlight examples out there. The issue is you need to get licensing approval from MSFT and recreate all the functionlaity from the API.

Version 6 of the API supports safari, although I'm yet to go and test it.

I have found that my current VE6 effort shows up OK in the Safari browsers on two Macs that belong to a couple of my friends. However, I cannot get it to work in my Windows version of Opera (on Win XP Pro).
