Hi everybody,
recently Ms published textured maps on local.live.com:

My question is: How to view textured maps on Ms VE SDK v.5

Thanks a lot
Happy summer from Spain

Hello

From what I have seen these have now just been added to the road map views (look somewhere with mountains):

http://local.live.com/default.aspx v=2&cp=54.601471~-3.117668&style=r&lvl=12&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&encType=1

This was the blog to announce it:
http://heptazane.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!8D0761EFF7586128!306.entry

But I didn't get a responce

It appears the tilehandler is looking for a parameter:

http://r0.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/r0 g=72&shading=hill

So I guess without an updated to the VE API you can't have it by default.......but you should be able to add it as a layer.

John.

Hello

Noticed this article this morning:

Shows how to turn it on with the api!

Hi,

did anyone got this to work I noticed the article and tried it immediatly, but I just get no tiles at all (I tried using 's' and VEMapStyle.Shaded, in the loadMap call and by using SetMapStyle).

With 's' or VEMapStyle.Shaded in the map load or in SetMapStyle it is adding the required shading=hill but it is setting g=undefined so no tiles are working. It comes up black.
Hopefully we will see a fix soon.
John.

Hill shading looks real good, however it's unavaliable in v5 at the moment. It will be added in the next release/update.
