vista problems with windows live messenger

hi i am having big time problems i just downloaded vista home premium upgrading from home xp and when i got on all of my messenger live contacts and the program were gone only yahoo and aim were there i want them back i had over 80 contacts on there please help me to retreive them

Its a Microsoft problem, Live Messenger is incompatable with Vista.

Brilliant isnt it that a Microsoft program wont work with a Microsoft OS.

My problem is i try to log on and it just sits there...attempting to log on but, like before, its just sittin there. Eventually i get a troubleshoot  your connection pop up, but then im told by live messenger that i am directly connected to .net service and directly connected to the internet through a local area network. Yet it still wont log on. Is it just Live Messenger or are the Applications from Yahoo and Aol also having these issues

I have found out you need to get hold of version 8.0, this works for me now.

Just installled live messenger in my new latop with vista (basic) no problem at all.. but i have problem with the yahoo messenger (8.1).. they say its compatible with vista.. now.. i am having a "f" problem signing in.. haa!!! tried everything.. even that autotunning with TCP...... nothing works.. so if anyone.. knows how to fix or having the same trouble and found any solution .. please let me know also.. spread the word.. spread the love... for christ.. its already a week.. this is too much.. even harder than getting an MCP...

I have had a lot of the same problems with msn mesenger basically i downloaded the programme and it continually shut down and got closed by dep security.

Basically i have found that very little works on vista unless you start the programmes in run in admister mode.

So down load then just close it down when the warnings come then reopen through the menu under run as adminster this is the only way i have found to get msn to work with vista.

Why do they release these programmes when they are obviuosly not finished or working correctly if i bought a telly i wouldnt expect it to arrive in bits that i have to work out sort the problems for the manufacturer why do we accept this in commputer software
