Hi All,

I'm working on an application(using live Id authentication) that is pretty huge and I'm expecting almost 10 million users at the end of the year. Will Live Id authentication handle this many users

I just looked at the unique ID string. It seems to be a 32 bit hex string. So there can be a maximum of 16^32 unique ids for an application. But, does it work this way

Any insight on this matter will be very helpful.

Thanks,

Don

Hi There,

If your formula for is correct I really dont see a problem.

Population of the word: 6,602,224,175.

16^32: 340,282,366,920,938,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Thanks,

Aaron

Sure Live ID can handle that, they handle over 22 billion authentications (but I lost in which timeframe, I thought per year), but... after the first million unique authentications you'll either have to pay $0,25 per unique user or share advertising revenue, for full details visit http://dev.live.com/terms/ Smile
