I am trying to build and test a new Messenger Activity, but I can't seem to get it to run. I have created the MSGRP2P.xml file and placed it in the same directory as the Messenger client on two separate computers (C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger). However when I look at my list of activities on either machine neither show the Activity in the available Activity list. Can someone help me with that

Are you sure your xml file is well-formed, valid and contains the correct test settings (like EntryID is 7)

Tip: the First Floor Live SDK provides a convenient Activity Configuration Editor which creates well-formed and valid activity entries. You can also use the Live SDK Activity Test Bench to test your activity without having to use the Windows Live Messenger. Available at http://www.firstfloorsoftware.com/Web/Developers/LiveSdk.

The test activity's will not show up in the normal "activity's menu", but in another menu. Open the windows menu (so not a button on the toolbar, but the real menu bar), go to Actions, and there is should say: "Start <activity name>", where <activity name> is replaced by the name of your activity.
Btw, the First Floor Live SDK is indeed a great way to test them, but you will need to test them in a real messenger conversation at some point, so you need to know how it works

Fully agree that you need to test the activity in the messenger at some point.

It's just that I can't stop plugging the Live SDK
