Hi, I'm having problems with the desktop beta. It says I must sync and it give me the address: http://ideas.live.com and to join the notification list. I went there and I cannot find it. I'm computer illiterate when it comes to things like this. Everythign I find directs me to the forum for it, but nothing directly says how to syncronize. Can someone please just say how to do this in dumbed down terms Thanks

BigPier

How lame are Microsoft

I can't believe I am having problems sync'ing my hotmail account in 'Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta'.

It's like not being able to read hotmail stuff in IE.

Sort it out you losers!

Re: More Problems...

Rocky_onasis

I was having the same sync problem. To fix it I just downloaded the lasted built of the beta and it works fine now.

I've downloaded the latest build but I still can't get my Hotmail account to synchronise. My Gmail and Yahoo accounts are working perfectly.

I know when new messages arrive but the message body does not display, instead I get this message:

"Message could not be displayed

Windows Live Mail desktop beta encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again."

When I press Send/Receive, I get this message:

"Windows Live Mail desktop could not download the requested message. There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account has been configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Subject 'RE: [SPAM: 3.000] Visa renewal', Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v1.0.0/sync.aspx', Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 80, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 204, Error Number: 0x8DE00003"

Please help if anyone knows what I can do! Thanks

im getting the same problem with sync` ing , same message is there a new server to be entered into email account please help

Re: More Problems...

Hackersoft

ideas.live.com has basically been closed and everything moved over to get.live.com.

Ideas.live.com was the home page for WL beta products, where as get.live.com was the home page for released products.

Microsoft have decided that rather than having 2 seperate URIs/sites they would combine them into one site.

You can now see the beta page at Get.live.com/betas/home

Try going to the new site and seeing if that helps.

Re: More Problems...

Anand Murthy

This is the message I receive with any email that has an attachment. ANY EMAIL, ANY SIZE. Even if the attachment is a 1 KB Notepad (.txt) file. My computer is Pentium P4, 3.00 GHz, with 1.5GB RAM and I still get this msg ...

I've suffered this bl***y message for the last 2 months & It is getting to a point of being ridiculous ...

Now, I have to log into Hotmail on the web as well as WLMD if I want to see all my emails!! How dysfunctional is that

The message is, "Message could not be displayed. Windows Live Mail desktop beta encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again"

Now that I've blown off steam, let me state that I would greatly appreciate your feedback to this vexatious issue at hand.

Sincerely

Anand Murthy

1. Start Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta.
2. On the "Tools" menu, click "Accounts."
3. Select your problematic email account.
4. Click on "Remove."
5. Click OK.
6. Click "Close."

2nd Step: Re-set up your Windows Live Mail account to Windows Live Mail Desktop

1. Start Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta.
2. On the "Tools" menu, click "Accounts. "
3. Click "Add," select "Email Account," and then click "Next."
4. Enter a display name for your account.
5. Enter your e-mail address and password.
6. Select "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account."
7. Select "HTTP" on the "My incoming mail server is a _____ server."
8. Click "Next. "

Re: More Problems...

dn2004

I have been having this issue, none of the above wortked however doing the following seems to fix it;

1) Close Windows Live Mail (desktop client)

2) Open up explorer browse to either C:\Documents and Settings\<Account Name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail or C:\Documents and Settings\<Account Name>\AppData\Local\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\

<Account Name> = Your XP username e.g. if you login under Liam it would be

C:\Documents and Settings\Liam\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

3) Delete all files and folders in this folder (WARNING YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR EMAIL, RSS FEEDS & DATA FROM WINDOWS LIVE MAIL)

4) Open Windows Live Mail (desktop client)

5) Reset up accounts

6) Send & Receive

If done correctly everything should now work fine... not sure what the problem is, most likely to do with corrupt data.
