Hi all,

Thanks for all the previous responses i got from great people here.

I am expecting another help which is like,

Can we show map as per clients location. I mean to say

When a user trying to open map from US , he can view the US Map.

When another user trying to open the application from Europe he will get the map opened as Europe map, like that .

Is anyone have any idea, please advice.

Thanks

Sarath.

Two general ideas I can think about:

1) Check the localization of the browser and do a best match on whatever language settings they have

2) Local.live does this (although not available on VE API), but you want to have the exact same functionality as the "locate me". I know that theres a custom self-locator .msi that is installed on your computer in order to retrieve your own IP and guess where you are but you might want to look into that

Yeah grab the IP address of the client and use one of the many IP2location webservices out there.

If you hit the webservice asyc and first then by the time the user has downloaded the VE js you will probably have the location (need some strong logic for all scenarios).
Then store this in a cookie so next time you don't have to look it up.

1. Its called location finder and you can find it here (well thats where it installed for me)

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Location Finder\"

2. This customized IP program is likely not to be released as its an internal feature built by Microsoft (or by some third commercial party).  There's no reason for them to release it anyways.

3. It's better to find out the IP using a webservice of some sort as suggested.
