Hi everyone!

I just installed Windows Mobile 6.0 on my pocket pc. The system seems ok for now, but when I use the new WLMM instead of the old pocket msn, it regularly says 0 contacts online, even though I know there's generally 25-30 people online on my list at anytime. It just shows 80-something contacts OFFLINE!! Sad

Any ideas

Steve

Well. I have the same issue. I discovered that problem is related to a conflict with another application I had installed; GoodLink service.

Live messenger works fine until I install GoodLink. 0 contacts online and I'm unable to sync my contacts.

Any idea

I got the same problem without install anything but I can sync contacts without problems, appears like messenger forget to tell something to the server, since it logs correctly but dont make the presence into the system.

Well it's just what I think I need to investigate bit more.

Same here, can't find anything about that!!!

If you open up Windows Live on your PocketPC and tap 'Menu' then 'Account Options' and then 'Switch Account' it will give you a warning about how you can't sync your e-mail. Tap 'Yes' and it will remove the account from the unit. From there sign up the _exact same_ account again, and login. Your contacts will be online as they should be normally. This will persist through Log Off

The only caveat to this process, is when you soft-reset your phone ... you will experience the same problem as before and will have to repeat the same process I just described above. So far it's the only work around I have been able to find.

Nate

I'm also experiencing this problem. The only workaround I've found is that which Lirathal mentions. Every time I "switch account" (to my same account), it forces me to re-sync all 130+ contacts, taking 5 minutes or more. It's ridiculous, really, that a Microsoft product won't operate properly on a Microsoft OS (WM6).

While I'm ranting, the Live Messenger Today-screen plug-in also doesn't play nicely with PocketBreeze. Most plug-ins can be added to a custom tab in PocketBreeze... but not this one.

I may have to start looking around for alternative 3rd-party solutions that support MSN IM.

Here's a suggested solution from Microsoft Support:

Doesn't appear to work, but I'll try again.
