Hi Gouffe,
While there is no way to have attachments, the email message supports html. this way you can put an <IMG> tag in your message. Note: that the mobile and messenger message will strip html tags. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb259775.aspx
I think there's 2 separate issues to address here:
Images in the actual message
No..it won't work on the toast message, only on the Email form that is sent to their live id email account. To send it in the email it'll have to be an image available on the internet e.g. from your site, or a flickr account etc. E.g. to attach my company logo i'd have and img tag with the src property set to: http://www.soulsolutions.com.au/Portals/0/Skins/ss/SSlogo.gif
Icons used for the alert toast etc.
The bell image in the toast you're talking about can be changed by setting up your profile for your alerts account. You have to upload a 48 x 32 pixel (PNG) (24-bit) icon.
If you want a different logo for the recent alerts tab in messenger you need to make 53 x 20 pixel (JPG) graphic and upload it to your account.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I'm also interested in customizing the toast image, but I don't know how to access my "alerts account" !
When I created my alert, I received an e-mail with the signup link for my site's readers, but no info about how to change my alert's settings :-(
And whenever I try to send an e-mail to bizdesk, it comes back to me... seems they have a problem with their Exchange server :-/
If someone could tip me... :-)
Thanks,
Danny.
Normally you'd log into this link http://signup.alerts.live-ppe.com/login/editLoginPIN.do with the pin, user, and pwd supplied. ATM, I can't get to the page to change the icons either. It used to be a page called editAlert.do.
Thanks for the link, but I can't log in with my MS Passport info... I didn't had any login/pwd supplied when I created my Alert !
I'm using the 0-dev solution, maybe that's why
I also tried http://signup.alerts.live.com/login/editLoginPIN.do , which has a different header, but without success.
So you're using the pure RSS solution not the sdk
As far as I'm aware there's no way to customise the toast/icons etc for this.
Yes, I'm using the RSS solution.
From what I read in another topic ( http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx PostID=2422314&SiteID=1 ), it seems that it will be possible to edit RSS-based alerts, but I don't know when ..
About the SDK, I'd like to use it if I could, but my site is PHP-based, and I guess there's no solution in this case :-/
For the RSS one I believe if you'd have to contact Msoft directly to get items modified.
The SDK involves calling webservices, so as long as you can call a web service you can use them. If you want to do extra processing logic to make your interface simpler, you could always set up your alert framework and expose it as web services that the php site can call
Ok, I'll try to contact the Live Alerts team and submit them a logo for my alerts :-)
For the SDK, I'm afraid that the PHP installation on my web server doesn't have the SOAP extension, so...
Thanks anyway :-)
BronwenZ, I'm not sure what do you mean here :
"If you want a different logo for the recent alerts tab in messenger you need to make 53 x 20 pixel (JPG) graphic and upload it to your account."
Are you talking about the images on the left tabs in Messenger
They're vertical, so I don't understand the 53 x 20 resolution...
Or maybe you are talking about the image next to the Alert provider's name, inside this tab
