Hi there,
I do experience some problems with the MSN photo upload tool.I cannot download any pictures.I do not understand the reason why. That is only displayed "No photos in this folder".Is this problem caused by Windows Vista
I have tried every remedy i can find on forums, and from MS itself, but every new remedy I get the same messages every time I try.
'No photos'
or
'You have a new image format in this folder. The converter is downloading.' being the most common, and after waiting for a result nothing happens.
II can download one photo at a time if I'm using Mozilla but I don't have time to sit and wait for single photos to upload, the Upload Tool was ideal being able to edit and resize several photos at once. In IE6/7 I get the messages 'No photos' etc.
I could get the tool on my old computer, have recently changed to an Acer Aspire, could there be something in the Acer security that's blocking the tool. Any thoughts welcome. My husband who's been using computers since the late 60's is stumped!

Folks, let me clear some things up on this issue.
THE Problem: MSN Photo upload tool active X loads up fine but.... Uploading action fails to reveal or locate photos known to be in the browsed folder location. The result is the message, "new image format in this folder, the downloader is converting." The program makes this distinction on every folder selected. Even folders that only have one .jpg picture. Following the succesful "downloader coversion" photo's in the folder fail to show up in the Add Photos window pane.
Purported reasons, solutions, and results (my experience):
1) Reason. Faulty Active X controls and script functions.
- Solution. Go through the enourmous instructions to open up your Active X settings and clearing cache and stripping your system from firewall and virus protection then it might work!
* Results. Doesn't resolve. All these motions and script changing may trigger one event that is blocking the problem, but for the most part this is not the issue.
- Solution. Activate your hotmail account for Live
* Results. Doesn't make a bit of difference!
2) Reason. Vista OS or a new computer is causing the problem.
- Solution. The MSN techs are looking into this as a potential problem at high priority!
* Results. It doesn't have anything to do with Vista, thousands of XP users on old machines are experiencing the same problem.
3) Reason. Microsoft MSN Technicians aren't sure why it doesn't work and after 30 days on the fast track they have yet to find the problem.
- Solution. Don't use Live Space MSN Photo Upload Tool! Maybe in six months they'll find the problem and blame it on someon else.
* Results. Well look at that! This solution worked! Oh my, I have solved the dilemma.
COME ON TECHS, LET'S GET THIS RESOLVED!
I ran across this help section and I followed all the steps and it actually worked!!! I've tried every other possible solution and this one finally worked for me....I also am using vista!! Hope this helps!! Follow all the steps!
